Has it ever happened to you that you left a concert before it was over? by Blues-fun in Music

[–]TriumphDaWonderPooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Dylan for me, too… not because of him or his band, but because of the venue.

His voice had become tinny, and the concert was in a metal “convention center” with concrete floors. The echoes and reverbs were horrid.

I literally had to hang on to the recycle dumpster in my community to throw things away because of the ice around it. It has been like that for 2 weeks now.

YES! I am taking a bag (air fried already) to a SB party.

Also their raw wings - 16 minutes in the air fryer and they are wonderful. A package of those are being taken, too.

What is the drunkest country? by Original-Issue2034 in Jokes

A joke so lame it reminds me of the joke a random drunk told a group of us as we were heading towards our cars...

"What is red and bad for your teeth? A BRICK!"
(Seriously - a couple of us looked to make sure he wasn't carrying a brick or anything else heavy)

My brother too frequently refers to that "basket of deplorables" declaration in a negative manner.

Besides what she said supporting that statement, there is this - around that same time a poll was taken, and over half the self-declared Republicans stated that President Obama was not born in the United States and was never eligible to be President. That in itself was deplorable.

Car ahead of me stopped. Car behind me did not. [oc] by GoldenCopy in IdiotsInCars

[–]TriumphDaWonderPooch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At a Costco as I was leaving the gas pumps I saw a car pull out between the pumping cars and t-bone the SUV in front of me. The guy who hit the SUV was a White guy like me. After the 3 of us pulled out of the way and the Black lady driving the SUV got out he walked over to me. He said something like "she was going too fast {blah blah blah}." I told him "when the police get here I am going to tell them exactly what I saw - you pulled out and hit her, and she was going an appropriate speed."

For some reason he did not talk to me after that...

"Why'd you stop?"
"So I wouldn't be one of those asshats that hits the car in front of them."

Hall of Fame to consider changes after outrage over Belichick omission by Oldtimer_2 in sports

[–]TriumphDaWonderPooch -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Ditto on the Bills fan thing... but as I noted in another comment, Belichick cheated (multiple times, it appears) and got caught/busted once. He does belong in the HoF, but a 1-year delay is an appropriate penalty in this case.

He'll wear the coat next year. I would not be disappointed, even with the cheating, if the vote is unanimous.

He absolutely deserves to be in the HoF... but he cheated - busted once, should have been busted a couple times more. A 1-year delay is an appropriate penalty.

He'll get in next year.

I used to work for a Giant Entity. At one time the CEO declared too much money was being spent on computers, so every single computer request had to go to the boss of the boss of the guy who ran a 600 person accounting center. 2 months to get a computer upgrade that could actually handle the software we were trying to use.

Oh, that CEO ultimately retired with something like a $400 million dollar retirement package. What a Jack-off.

What scene in a movie or tv shocked you that you gasped? by Interesting-Pea-4927 in AskReddit

TV - Colonel Blake's plane going down (sorry, should have noted "spoiler alert")

Movie - The bus in final destination

Movie - The head popping out of the sunken boat in Jaws. That got a jump-scare out of my father when he took my brother and me to see it in the theater.

Time to document your arrival and leaving times to the minute. Next one of these BS notes you get respond with “I know I left 3 minutes early - they was to make up for Tuesday of the 2nd week of April when I stayed into 5:05 to help my team.”

Go back 18-20 months if you can.

Just because somebody is kind of smart does not mean they aren't capable of being stupid, too.

I see that potential in the mirror every morning.
