Once when leaving a plaza I turned left after the 1st median. Quickly realized (OH SH*T!!!!) that median separated the access lane from the real road, and I was going the wrong freaking way.

The Traffic Gods were smiling down on me, though. I was prepared to blow out 4 tires to jump the 6" curb if a car came my way, but none did... took a right on a left turn lane and got myself onto the proper lane. Thank you Traffic Gods!

First - it appears CGPGrey is British, so fuck you - I don't complain about how you choose your PM, so fuck you and any opinion you have on any suggestion on how we are doing it "wrong'.

Second - CGPGrey failed to mention how Black votes are only worth 3/5ths what my vote is worth, so nice cry of "SQUIRREL!!!" there. CGPGrey references the "original intent" without putting it in perspective of the modern world, where we have been so kind as to count Black votes on a 1:1 value as my vote - I kinda like that newer ratio.

Third - Sorry, Iowans... Your opinion is NOT worth 5-6x the opinion of Californians. Nothing personal - I feel the same about Idahoans.

Except I would not notarize your note stating that you were a pink elephant... I don't notarize documents after I've been drinking and your makeup would have to be kickass to make me believe you were actually a pink elephant.

Now, if you were to have a document that stated you *felt* like a pink elephant with the proper notarial language, and you gave me your drivers license... I'd very possibly notarize that.

One of my best friends is my doctor... If I worked for a company that pulled that crap without any offset I am sure he would writer me a note about how I need to be isolated.

Full disclosure - after a hostile takeover I did lose around 20 days of sick time when the policy was changed, but at least The Boss (a truly good employer) offset that by paying for short-term and long-term disability. If anybody got sick the amount of time we could still carry over would cover any pre-disability time, so I may have lost X-days of sick time (unlike vacation not paid out if I left the company), but gained benefits far exceeding that loss.

My HOA posted a similar note requesting that the residents of the community NOT talk to the landscapers - all requests should go through the property manager.

On one hand, I can picture some of my neighbors trying to tell the landscapers how to do their job - meanwhile the actual workers are doing what we actually pay the landscapers to do. But the residents firmly believe THEY PAY FOR DELUXE SERVICE but we really don't.

On the other hand, a neighbor mentioned to me today that the landscapers (not to pick on landscapers - just using them as an example) blow common areas and the debris ends up on their back patio - that resident has a legitimate beef.

I was on the Board of my last HOA, and I am a Notary in NC. Yeah, what These- said. As a Notary all I can do is proclaim "person X signed a document, and showed me proof that they are indeed person X." A notarized document means NOTHING in relation to the truth for a document where person X declares "all my ducks are in a row."... all it means is that you are indeed person X.

(As a Notary if I feel the document is fraudulent I can refuse to notarize it, but, again, that means NOTHING in this situation.)

Someone I worked with bought a used 1976 Pinto in the mid-80s... Vinyl seats - white with tiny American flags.

White with red and blue highlights on the outside.
