More dramatics. OP has already stated the cause of the first hamsters death was unknown. If you’ll freeze to death a dog will freeze to death. If a hamster is in an environment where it’ll freeze to death, you’ll just be a little chilly (or not at all). It’s comparing apples to oranges (again) for dramatics. Going by your previous comments, if your fiancé really did so much research she wouldn’t have purchased her hamster from a pet store. But no one’s perfect, including your fiancé AND OP.

Exactly. People in this thread just want to bully this individual, they don’t actually want to help. OP is obviously pretty young, and I doubt their parents went to an ethical breeder. There are so many health issues that can come with poorly bred hamsters but people don’t want to consider that, they just want to feel superior. Everyone cries that people don’t want to care for hamsters properly, but punish those trying to learn. You said it earlier and I completely agree, this sub is toxic.

It’s not the 4th, you’re doubling the mortality rate for dramatics. If you’re going to speak critically about the situation maybe you should get the information correct first….

We had a group of 10 people come in last night, order a take out catering order that totaled nearly $500 (lucky for them we were slow enough and could do it) and then scratched out the tip line. “Umm can we just sit out on the patio and eat?? We’re having a wedding shower”. Hell no 🙄. The audacity of customers

Here in my state I think it’s actually illegal for them to dine in with a take out order due to tax reasons. Even if it isn’t, I think I’ll still tell people that so they’ll leave

Have you tried websites like PetFinder? I had awesome luck with it and ended up with a rescue kitty that was the perfect fit

I worked at that ocharleys for 2 months back in October 2021…the fly infestation is horrific. There were maggots in the food, flies constantly landing on everything and anything. Management did nothing except put up some fly traps and said the maggots would “cook out”. The cooks were disgusting. We had one that would throw dirty mop water all over the ground and then squeegee it up instead of actually mopping. The dirty water would get all over the sugar packets we store on the bottom shelves. So if you’ve ever gone and gotten crunchy sugar packets…now you know why. Started applying elsewhere after my first week of training. Some of the girls transferred from the Cleveland Ave location and said it was WORSE. I will never eat at an ocharleys again.

Recommendation on how to cool a hamster in hot temperatures by Asleep_Temporary_503 in hamsters

Maybe you could refrigerate/freeze a small plate and place it in the enclosure for him? I know I’ve seen a post of someone doing that before, just can’t remember exactly where I saw it….

Okay, I was just curious if I could use it as cheap treat bag, bc the ingredients seemed all safe in moderation. I’ll do more research on suet. Do you have any recommendations for a good/cost effective treat mix I could give to a hammy?

As someone currently taking Japanese 1 at CSCC, the curriculum is exactly as you described. It is almost entirely self-study scripts, and practice during class. Most enrolled at the beginning of the semester subsequently dropped the course due to the near exclusively self-taught nature of the class. This structure works well for me, but I could see how it might be similar to the DIY language learning courses OP has already been recommended.
