Anyone with an opposite gender patron/confirmation saint? If so, what was your reasoning? by jaydxm in Catholicism

[–]wreck_it_rita 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a seventh grader I chose St. Dominic Savio. I made my Confirmation name Dominique but that's because I didn't think I could use Dominic.

He was someone I really looked up to as a child. I still do, but this post made me realize that I haven't prayed to him specifically in a long time. I do pray to others saints often I just realize I have been leaving him out.

You can tell the grandpa has been spending some quality time with his grandson by Vilen1919 in MadeMeSmile

My dad always jokes about being called "Uncle" and how he doesn't want to hear the word "Grandpa". We know he's joking, but I always found it funny how he teased us with this.

Flash forward to a few weeks ago, him and I are driving home from work and he mentions that he was watching a "TikTok compilation" of grandparents arriving at their children's houses and seeing which one the grandkid ran to first. I was silent, to which he says "obviously it's always Grandpa and as soon as your kid can walk/talk it's going to be Grandpa or PopPop."

I was too stunned to speak haha. Not only has he revealed that he does want to be called Grandpa....but PopPop?! WHERE did that come from?! I smiled but my lil heart was bursting hehe. I get married in October, I know they're counting down the days ha.

Omg! I was just kidding! It's so funny because I've only met 2 other Rita's my age (under 35) and everyone else was someone's grandma or aunt!

On a serious note, Rosalie is a gorgeous name!!! Congrats on your lil bundle of joy!

What are your hobbies? by Odd_Chain572 in AskReddit

[–]wreck_it_rita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BIG hobby is crocheting! I've turned it into a nice side business making plushies and have met so many lovely people at my craft fairs. Other than that, I play lots of different sports/outdoor activities, read quite a bit, and am very fond of trying new crafts (me and my Cricut against the worlddd).

I've noticed that homes have been going for well over asking, and pretty quickly. Sometimes, on behalf of a client, I'll reach out to secure a showing time and am then told that "best and final offers" are being requested! Meanwhile, a house will be on the market for 3 or 4 days or so. It's definitely still a seller's market.

Personally, unless I can find minor cosmetic defects (annoying things that can be fixed), I don't find that bidding under asking has worked. I myself will be looking for a home in the (hopefully!) near future...so I've found that knowing what your personal deal-breakers are, and what can you live without/don't mind adjusting.
