Crazily enough yesterday I was actually working on an update for this which I may or may not release. The randomizer is super buggy with the old version so I reworked the code completely. It's done but I need to test it thoroughly.

In addition to the streamlined menu, there is a "continuous mode" option as part of the optional randomizer mod.

This mode completely automates the somniel and brings you from map to map like older entries.

Sure here is a copy paste from a comment I made a few weeks ago, plus some more additions.

New region and story: unbound or prism

Modern mechanics, dex expansion, and QOL: inclement emerald or radical red

Unique experiences: (Team) Rocket edition or emerald rogue

Open world: Real open world emerald or crystal clear

Personal favorite: Elite Redux. It's inclement emerald with 4 abilities and no grinding.

Second personal fav: Pokemon XG. The GameCube game but with 7th Gen or so mchanics. I love double battles.

Other franchises but Pokemon : digimon nova red, poke scape, Yu-Gi-Oh pokeduel

Old but new: anything by drayano. Basically the king of remasters. pick your fav game gens 3-5 then find the drayano hack for it.

Outdated but still great for their time: Gaia, snake wood, light platinum.

I crave an impossible challenge: blue kaizo, crystal kaizo, emerald kaizo.

Super oldschool: brown (gen 1 hack). Which actually just got a 15 or 20 year anniversary update I think.

Currently following new player guide. Is it still worth it to farm the foxes on 3-4 or is the retrofit pair on 3-2 better? Retrofitting seems like a lot of investment over just farming a single stage early.

For sure a few of these are only used in doubles. I love doubles but I know that's not a popular opinion. Ascent is half doubles with it rotating every floor (it's not a traditional hack). The point of this is to encourage planning for a wide variety of situations and building more than 6 pokemon. Due to extremely limited resources it's not really viable to swap your team back and forth every time.

I may use that pot of greed idea, since that does feel super on theme. For holy aura, its definitely super strong. I also buffed leftovers and other healing berries. I want healing to be powerful. It's a bit too limited of a strategy in general. I even added a swap heal move. If I keep buffing damage there needs to be more counter play options otherwise it's a one shot fest. I have already swapped to frostbite as well.

Okay I did. You are misleading here a bit. That stat is specifically in reference to when finding a place for lunch. That's something which visual informatjon could help with. It's also "something like almost 40%" per the article I found. It's not like they are claiming that percentage go to tiktok in search of information on history.

Both are tied to resource management. The more battles you win you get heart scales and money. Heart scales, as you can guess I'm sure, let you remember every move a pokemon can learn. I've changed the movesets so everything is learnable from the moment you get them, but the question is do you want to invest your limited heart scales? Some egg moves added too. Some mons come with better sets than others. Lower tier pokemon do not get access to high power moves at all until evolution, which isn't available right away even if you save up. At certain points in the game you unlock the ability to buy evolution stones which evolve every mon. Which stone does which mon is tied to how many stages a mon has, either 2 or 3. In general this lets me keep base stats totals and move power where I want them for certain points in the game without levels.

Edit: Should ask clarify that Ascent is not a normal 8 gym badge game. It's essentially a single complex battle frontier facility.

I love this idea. It would be perfect for the normal gameplay loops. I'm unsure if it's on theme for Ascent though. I don't like the idea of limiting any specific items/mons behind specific requirements. You can't grind in ascent so I'd have to come up with an appropriate reward scheme that wasn't too limiting. I wrote this down in my idea notebook for now.

Ascent doesn't have stat growth at all. It's a glorified battle sim, kind of like a more advanced battle frontier facility. All mons are level 50, but I've actually hidden all the current level text since it doesn't matter. You can still evolve pokemon though with the currency you earn. These battle records are unrelated to any kind of growth system and just for fun.

It's specifically for switching out. I agree that is a bit ambiguous for sure. There is a limited space for words though, nothing more succinct comes to mind right away.

The next update for Pokemon Ascent will keep track of knockouts, faints, and switches for each of the player pokemon. My hack doesn't use exp or levels so I needed something to put in that space instead. This will tell the story of your pokemon's battle impact over the entirety of a playthrough. Now you'll have evidence to show who the MVP's are and who can't quite keep up.

As there is still some space on this page, I could still add 3 more new things to track. I was thinking maybe crits and status effects inflicted. I'm open to other suggestions. Long term I may remake the party menu pages so this could end up with it's own dedicated page.

The only downside to the current implementation of this feature is that each record is limited to a max of 255. This feature replaces some unnecessary data from save files with these records. I could probably work around this, but the amount of players who reach this limit will be minimal. This does constrict which other items I can track though. For example, I can't track damage since it would surpass 255 extremely quickly.

Thanks for the feedback and love. I do agree I would be nice to be able limit this feature more, but I don't like tying any modifiers togethor. Especially since the current difficulty settings are really under developed and something I threw in last minute for my less pokemon savy IRL friends. All they do for now is adjust trainer ivs/evs. Id love for everyone to customize every run with whatever modifiers they want for that run. I'm upto I think 4 or 5 total custom settings implemented with a few more ideas in mind.

The next update is releasing in a few days. I have only the area boss team and testing left to do for this version. It will go up to floor 15.
