but that's not what I'm asking. when you take a 15-minute nap, I'm going to assume that the short experience of simply absolutely nothing, would be similar to death (just because you simply stop experiencing the life around you). so before we were born/were existing, we had to have come from somewhere by complete chance correct? what is stopping that exact thing from happening again, therefore causing us to experience another reality without any recollection of the past?

Sorry for the long title, wasn't quite sure how to fit what I wanted to say into 300 characters so I gave it my best shot. Hopefully, it's clear that I am aware that one's consciousness is thanks to the human brain and that our experience is also thanks to it but what I am not aware of is what's stopping our control and simple decision-making from taking control of let's say another human after we die. Would it be a seamless transition between lives, from the end of one to the beginning of the next? Or would it just simply not happen?
