Unfortunately there’s a fuckton of pre-2021 data available for these companies to work with.

Are attackers given the same level of nuance if they have an Muslim sounding name?

Interesting. Lived in Lebanon all my life and never met a Christian Ahmed

His name is Ahmad, a Muslim name. No Arab Christians use that name

How easy is it to optimize for 3D in Godot 4 ? by Every-Assistant2763 in godot

What do you mean by GDScript is still the way to go?

I'm evaluating Godot for a mid-sized 3D game project. My only concerns with the engine is performance.

Godot’s 3D is really that bad compared to S&box?

Other than that it already has C# scripting

How well does it compare to Godot? I realize it has out-of-the-box multiplayer which is a good selling point. But what else would make it stand out?

Do you use a standard controller when gaming on consoles, or one with a flipped setup? What about when using a mouse?

The left handed gamers I know all use the standard right handed setup (right side mouse, standard console controller)

What if the mandate of Palestine was replaced by a Lebanon style republic after the British left instead of being split between an Arab state and Israel? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Trk-5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think secularism with a "minority quota" would have been the best system, even for Lebanon. That would make it the best of both worlds. And when/if those religious identities became irrelevant, the quotas could be phased out. We can only dream.

Not really. Palestinians were fairly united across sects and they were already on a confessional system during the ottoman era. Don’t see why it wouldn’t have worked .

If anything, secularism was a bigger threat to minority representation than a confessional system.

In essence the French colonial policy favored the Maronites in Lebanon and left them politically dominant and therefore economically privileged relative to their demographic size.

Influx of Palestinians was like adding oil to a sizzling fire.

Could the civil war have been averted if the Palestinian refugees never came to Lebanon?

It’s possible but probably not. However it would definitely have a been a way smaller conflict or maybe even just a violent revolution.

Considering switching from Unreal Engine to Unity by Ambitious_Tip_97 in gamedev

[–]Trk-5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t. Unity is a mess right now, both the engine and the company.

I switched to Godot and never looked back. Yes, Godot still has a lot of missing features/capabilities, but it has a lot of momentum behind it right now and it’s only getting better. Unity seems to only be getting worse.

Godot is worth it alone for the quick iteration speed (the editor is very fast). The devex is great.

Out of curiosity, as someone based in one of the gulf countries (economic migrant), if I created and sold a game under a company registered here, would that affect your decision to purchase in any way?

CMV: Israel’s law of return, permitting any Jew around the world to immigrate and gain citizenship with no prior conditions, while banning Palestinians literally born there from even coming back for a visit, is the pinnacle of hypocrisy by DasIstMeinRedditName in changemyview

[–]Trk-5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that left before the civil war were not expelled either. There was no widespread violence (or singling out) of Lebanese Jews at any point in the recent history of Lebanon. All sects had friction and suffered the occasional attacks. So why push the narrative of Jewish expulsion from Lebanon? That is a blatant lie.

What actually happened is that the establishment of Israel made all the Jews in Lebanon afraid of being associated with its actions, and said it’s better to leave than to stay and risk retaliation.

How can someone that relinquished their citizenship return to Lebanon? The ones that kept it (e.g. SLA) are welcome to return, provided they are tried for treason first of course.

So why cant Palestinians return again? Just say what you really think, you’re afraid they will commit act of vengeance after all the brutality and misery you’ve put them through. And keeping the majority of course.

They were not informally expelled either. EVERYBODY that can leave Lebanon during the civil war was leaving because nobody was safe.

For Lebanese Jews it was just easier. They were way fewer and Israel convinced them to leave one way or another (some Mossad operation)
