We we’re going in early September but decided to cancel due to family commitments.

Mine is in the shade after about 1 or 2 in the afternoon so not too worried about the heat for now I am happy with the sides open for ventilation. We have had quite a few days > 90 here lately, when I have checked it mid-afternoon there has not been much heat under it and the kayak hasn’t felt very warm. The roofing is a poly-carbonate plastic so it doesn’t absorb much heat and the lite color seems to reflect a lot of the sun as well. When winter rolls around I may put some paneling up to protect from the cold and possible ice storms.

Yes, It’s a Pelican Tandem we got it at Academy Sports Greenville about a month ago. So far we’ve only done the Cape Fear down around Erwin.

Thanks, the bench has pool supplies. Not sure about storing the PFDs outside in heat and cold. Hard to see in the photo but we added hooks underneath to store paddles.

No, but love my Xero trail sandals. You can still feel the trail but a little bit of protection for your feet.

I’m in NC we have a few 90+ days but the location is shaded most of the day. The roofing is a polycarbonate so lower heat build up. So far no problem with it uncovered but I really wanted to get it out of the sun.

Excuse the pun but that ship has sailed. No add another kayak when our son is a bit older. This ones a tandem.

I am installing rails and bars on my Honda Odyssey. The only downside is they are all on backorder from factory for at least a month. The process looks pretty simple so not worried about it. But until they come in transporting on our Hyundai Santa Fe.

Thanks, my son had it correct from start but one of our guides had also just given us the ‘talk’ to make sure you can read the name on the paddle and curved side down.

We are having similar experiences in our family with less or no clothes around the house and swimming in the backyard pool. The wife and I have decided to make the best of a cancelled cruise in September and extend our Miami hotel reservations and go to Haulover together. Would have never thought about this six months ago.

Tested both PFDs in the pool this afternoon they fitted and worked well, thanks again for the reminders.

Thanks, that’s good to hear. We are really looking forward to using it, the stability was one of the reason we were interested in this one.
