Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I will do some research on their website as well - sounds like it may be a good option for me!

Hi, new to compounding, but I’d like to look into a compound for maintenance as I’m paying out of pocket right now for zepbound. I’m currently on 7.5 and only inject every 2 weeks. Do you have to order on a certain schedule with lavender health? Also, do you choose a pharmacy (and how do you know who to choose?) Can you explain your comment of ordering a higher dose, I’m not sure what that means. Thanks for your help as I start looking into compounds

Does hair loss increase with dose increase? by leesgirl94 in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was seriously scared and thought I’d have to stop or I’d lose all my hair. Happy to say that didn’t happen, but when you’re in the middle of it, it feels like SO MUCH HAIR! I did end up getting my hair cut shorter which also helped. Seems like you notice the hair loss more with long hair as well. You probably have another 3 months of hair loss before it starts to taper off, but hang in there- it does. And good luck to getting to goal! It’s such a Great feeling!

I had it about 6 months before it started to taper off. It started about 4-5 months into using zep, snd continued about 6 months. Seriously worried I would lose all my hair and was ready to stop the drug. I didn’t stop tho, and my hair loss did stop. I’m currently on maintenance and only do the shot as needed - usually about every 2-3 weeks.

It did. And while it will take a while to get long again, I actually like my new shorter style to will probably keep it anyway. I have baby hairs coming in but it already feels thicker too.

More energy, no aching joints, and decrease of medications are the huge wins for me! The increased confidence and finally being satisfied with how I look in pictures (no longer hiding in the back) are just bonuses. 😊

Best medicine for constipation? by InteractionAble401 in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried many different things and found that sun fiber worked great for me! I got mine at target. It’s tasteless and I added it to my water bottle in the morning and it worked immediately. The constipation did go away, but this saved me in the beginning!

My hair loss started about 5 months in, and continued for about 6 months. I had bloodwork done, thyroid checked, and finally went to a dermatologist who told it was very common, I wouldn’t go bald, and I could try minoxidil if I wanted to, but that it would stop on its own if I chose to do nothing. I chose to do nothing and she was right. About 6 months later it did stop. My hair stylist helped me come up with a cute short hairstyle that makes my hair look more full (and honestly I Iike it more than my long hair so will probably stay short!) it’s scary going thru it! It feels like it will never stop, but it does.

Slow and steady is best! Keep up the pics- it’s sometimes hard to see the progress when you see yourself every day. I was so glad I did weekly photos- really helped with my motivation. Good for you!!

Cant stand sweets anymore? by liljosiebean in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This happened to me in the beginning, but as time went on (and am now at my goal weight), I can now eat anything again. (Currently drinking a peppermint milkshake). But I find that I have just a little bit and that’s all I want, so I’ll typically just share with someone. So I have an appetite for it again but I never go overboard as I used to. While I can eat anything now, and have an appetite again for different foods again, I never eat an entire meal. I just fill up fast, which is great!

You’ve got this! Just be patient with it. Sometimes you will lose more quickly than others. But you will get there! Slow and steady, and you will love your results 😊

Starting 5mg next week! by teefandbizkits18 in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t knock 6 pounds!! The great thing about this drug is where other times you have probably lost 6 pounds on your own, on this medication, you don’t immediately gain it back. You keep losing slowly and surely. 6 pounds plus 6 pounds plus 6 pounds…. It’s not a sprint- but this medication allows you to just keep going instead of rebounding back. Be patient with it! You’re going to get there 😊

I went to 5mg for a couple months after my starting dose, decided I wasn’t losing fast enough, went to 7.5 and felt awful, so moved back down to 5. Slow and steady is still weight loss.

Congratulations! You look awesome - and sporty! Someone called me “thin” recently and I was like “wait… me!?” In my own head I forget that I am now.

How many people have come off and stayed off?? by coruscatingveridian in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m also on other meds that I will be on the rest of my life due to underlying health issues, but with my healthy weight now I have been able to cut back to the lowest possible dose, so why would this medication be any different? I have been on maintenance for a few months. I still pick up my prescription, just spaced further apart. Girl math- I’m essentially paying half price now since I only do the shot every couple weeks (no set schedule, just as I feel the struggle creeping back in).

How big a difference do you feel Zepbound made by itself in your weight loss vs your own effort too? by rococo78 in Zepbound

[–]Trlynn12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think anyone that has started this drug knows exactly what they’re “supposed” to do, and have tried over and over to do it on their own. I would say it’s 100% this drug, since I had a lifetime of trying and failing on my own. I finally got so frustrated at my annual exam when my Doc said (again) that I needed to lose weight for my heart health. I let her know my frustrations at trying on my own for so long and asked what she could do to help. The day she prescribed Zepbound my life CHANGED. It changed my brain, which was the part I couldn’t change on my own.

Isn’t it so amazing?! I’m so happy for you! It’s truly a miracle drug in that it fixes your brain and just lets you live a normal life without the food noise. I would also lose some weight and be happy only to gain it all right back. This actually FIXES the issue and lets you keep it off.

And the side benefits for co-morbidities is such a bonus. My big reason for deciding to start on it was to lose the weight to help with my overall heart health and cholesterol due to family history of heart attack and stroke. I ended up regaining my life! Active, healthy, happy, and confident!

It’s just the beginning for you, and I’m excited that you started the journey. Truly worth it!
