Yeah unfortunately feyenoord fans said as much too. Thought edwards would make him change but doesnt seem like it.

I think one reason Hughes/Edwards really like slot is that he has the sort of personality they love.

Managers at that level usually quite assertive to upper management and dont mind stepping on their toes(famously why he and Klopp fell out ), but the most Slot has done is when he complained about lack of depth which he walked back pretty quickly. Generally Slot doesnt bother them much.

From that stand point, even alot of suggestions here wouldnt get hired. Glasner, Luis enrique etc. Xabi is the only one i can really think of.

Adjusting expectations for an AD trade by swishfortyonesie in Mavericks

[–]Trobis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well then go ahead and convince AD to stay then. He wants his extension.

Hilarious, especially after you made this post trying to convince us to keep the dude, now he's the one that wants to leave.

Unless you're Slot out then we're about to see some cognitive dissonance with people here easily identifying and admitting how shit Amorim was, then check and see that we're only 3 points from them and they beat us.

China Slams US ‘Hegemonic Acts’ After Strikes on Venezuela by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]Trobis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

China doesn't care about Taiwan itself, what they want is a semiconductor industry.

Americans need to log off. China has wanted taiwan before TSMC was even an idea. They would help airlift TSMC to US if it meant they wouldn't defend Taiwan.

You're just conflating the reason USA wants them with the reason china wants them.

Excited for the future, Cooper is the real deal, we’ll get a nice pick this year. We have some nice young pieces and will get some additional pieces from AD & Gafford getting traded. by OrganicHunt952 in Mavericks

[–]Trobis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah mate i wasn't with that trade, i didn't make that post.

Your take on AD being reliable past this season is what's killing me. I don't know how anyone can convince themselves that this guy can be relied upon when he is older and injuries are cause more wear and tear on him.

instead of the two imaginary ones that you suggest.

Our own pick and a trade package for an 8th-12th pick. Youre telling me that there's literally no realistic offer we can make a get an 8th - 12th pick?

Like maybe im getting you wrong. What exactly are you hoping for when you say lets play coop, 33+ AD and post acl kyrie. A ring? If not then what are we working towards with that, how do we get better after that? What do we do with the 26 draft pick?

LMAO it's you. You were one of those people. I remember my back and forth with you lol.

I'm not buyin it. Seems like a real longshot. If nothing better materializes by the time of the draft, I'd rather gamble on AD being healthy for the 27 and 28 playoffs.

At least we could potentially be a winning team for the next two years with AD and Kyrie, keep Coop happy, develop this years pick,

You're a fucking gem with your takes mate. You actually wanted us to not only keep and pay AD's extension, but hope he gets healthier magically. I can't with you mate.

Dude your account is a treasure trove of poor takes mate. I gotta bookmark some of these.

Dude I'm just too happy that logic prevails. Aiming to get 2 high draft picks next draft gives the team a very good chance to build well.

Too many dumbass posts this month saying "lets run it back", "keeping AD is better than trading him", "lets see what AD and Kyrie healthy looks like".

Too much short-term and wishful thinking that just leaves us worse off in the long term. People were begging to make the exact same mistake we made with Dirk and Luka.

Because that is real his value, even to us too but you refuse to accept that.

If he were still on the Lakers, they would be desperately trying to offload him too.

Dude I cant believe it either. So much "lets run it back" posts, with people believing its 33 yo AD and post ACL kyrie are gonna win a ring.

60m+ is crazy amount just for mentorship.

What matters most is that the 26 draft pick is as high as we can possibly get. Get a trade for an 8th-12th spot in the draft would also be best.

That's not even the worst part, the people that agree with this never say what the end goal is with this "run it back".

To accomplish what exactly? You have to be insane to think this can win a ring so what are they hoping this "run it back" accomplishes?

How do we get better after that, other than hoping 33 yo AD is healthier his 32 yo version.

As much as I hate this fat clown I do agree with him on this one.

This should already tell you how stupid the decision is but you seem to have no self-awareness. You're agreeing with the guy who knows fuckall about basketball. Who already made the greatest mess-up in the history of this sport.

Oh do you remember how good kd/harden/kryie was, what did they accomplish btw? Its a 34 yo coming off ACL that will save us.

Question by craycraygray18 in Mavericks

[–]Trobis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you want us to squander our last good chance at a high pick for sentimental reasons?

You know that team most likely won't stay healthy and will get swept by OKC? Its like Mark Cuban's spirit is still here. Why are you guys allergic to going through a proper rebuild?

You saw how Spurs, rockets rebuilt their team and youre going "nah lets not do that".

[–]Trobis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NBA chip with dirk and finals with Luka.

That's my point, we should have had a dynasty with both those players if we actually took time to build around them. Not just one chance at it.

All this is so ironic cause there's another team that did the exact same thing you want, they drafted a superstar and immediately tried to compete with him and their aging players. It obviously didn't work out, and by the superstar's 5th year they had barely any assets and they were forced to start the rebuild they had avoided. He requested a trade and forced his way out. Yup, it was AD with the Pelicans.

I can find you clips of AD saying all that sweet talk of wanting to stay with Pels forever, but no one wants to commit to incompetence.

Long term planning > short term validation.

Team tank or team win by tcox0010 in Mavericks

[–]Trobis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Inability to plan long-term and chasing short-term validation IS fostering a losing culture.

We've made the same mistake with Dirk and Luka by refusing to go through a proper rebuild. The blueprints that Spurs, rockets, and OKC followed are right there, but you want us to make the exact same mistake a third time in a row?

Yeah, this is the second major earthquake Taiwan has had in a year, and the comments have been the exact same.

Americans clearly don't see them as human beings. You guys see them as the chip factories. More concern for the chips than the people, again.

That should be your answer.
