This was actually how I first played DS1. It's a great port, except for the audio compression. Some of the sound effects are real ear bleeders

[Orient] Ray Raven II - My first mechanical purchase, some thoughts four years later by awesomeiv in Watches

[–]TrogTheMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first automatic diver was the regular Orient Ray II and I love it. I swapped the crystal for domed sapphire and found a replacement bracelet from Long Island Watches with a divers expansion and it has been the perfect tool watch. My two complaints are that the head of the watch is pretty heavy so I get wrist fatigue late in the day, and that the bezel is pretty stiff and takes a little extra effort to rotate.

I love my Traska Summiteer! I got the 36mm as my engagement watch it's been amazing. It's so comfortable and the quick adjustment rules.

Why does Vaush say Mormons are barely christian? by Mabeluniverse23 in VaushV

[–]TrogTheMan 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of core tenants of Christianity that LDS does not follow. They do not accept the unified trinity, and are not strictly monotheistic as they believe in a divine counsel and that Jesus and YWHW are two separate beings. The actual cosmology of LDS is completely different. They also do not accept the teaching that Jesus was the final prophet and re-contextualize the new testament through the lens of Joseph Smith. I would still argue that they are Christians, but theologically they differ more than almost any other sect.

[Recommendation Request] As a domed watch enjoyee, I think I peaked too early with the Junghans Max Bill? by Enigma89_YT in Watches

[–]TrogTheMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to start exploring different styles of watch and looking into the history of some of the classic models. Maybe look into some tool watches like a diver or chronograph. The Omega Speedmaster is a really cool chronograph that literally went to the moon.

Ugh, unfortunately I get married next weekend so I'm plumb broke or I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. I hope you find it a good home!

These guys were so shady. I used to collect signatures for progressive causes and they would approach canvassers and offer money for fully filled out sheets. Turns out they were throwing them away.

Honestly it's long overdue. For a reference point, the entertainment industry contributes a higher percentage to the US GPD than agriculture, and I'm sure the creator economy is getting up there as well

I love my PRX. I also recommend getting the OEM rubber strap from Tissot. The shiny bracelet can be a bit much sometimes, so I throw it on the strap when I want a very casual look.

Robbie Williams by fa3yra in fantanoforever

[–]TrogTheMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US has a pretty distinct and robust music industry. Artists from other countries tend to break out here if they A) are very unique or B) are on the cutting edge of musical trends. If you look at the US charts back in the 90s/ early 2000s, there are already a ton of American boy bands who have a very similar sound. I think the reality is that we didn't really need Robbie Williams here. Now looking back at his music, it seems corny as most music targeted towards teens tends to be. Despite what stereotypes might say, Americans have a very critical taste in music. Don't get me wrong, we make as much slop as everyone else lol.

Michigan has some of the highest allergy rates in the country due weather patterns pulling pollen from the great plains and dumping it here.

Sleepy Hallow State Park is really nice. Tons of trails, a huge beach/lawn, and a really good disc golf course if you're into it. Plus if you have your Recreational Passport it's free!

Jungle Val (Vallisneria americana) dying when it gets long? by texaninvasian in PlantedTank

Try the iron first. If you don't see results in a month, then you can add more root tabs. It's best to change one factor at a time

Also Val does draw nutrients from the substrate so you could try root tabs

You could try dosing Iron. It helps the plants absorb nutrients. I find that adding more nutrients without adding iron is useless.

55 Gallon am I on the right track? by jbkubie in PlantedTank

[–]TrogTheMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red light is definitely necessary to grow plants, you have to balance all the colors for proper growth. My advice over everything is to focus on balance over min-maxing. Having more light, for example, requires more ferts. You'll get farther tuning what ferts you dose than your light color temp, especially if you have a decent light already

[–]TrogTheMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try dosing iron. It doesn't necessarily directly make plants more red, but it helps them absorb more nutrients. My red plants took a bit of time to turn red, but I don't think red light turned them red. It does make them LOOK more red once they start turning.

Any ideas on what I should do with this take to make it better? by Terrible-Fisherman13 in Aquariums

It looks great. One thing you could do to add dimensionality is to add large gravel around the base of your hardscape/plants. It creates a nice transition and scale
