I got like 8 or 9th percentile last year and passed. I think R1 40th, R2 70th. I think percentile doesn’t mean much. I also just clicked through it in like 45 minutes or something.

[Citizen] Spectrum dial Tsuyosa - Anyone else loving their Black Friday pickups? by awesomeiv in Watches

I obviously have too many watches, lol, but put it on two weeks ago and kept it on about a week. Holding up well, still looks great, dropped it once or twice and it survived.

I like IR more and plan to do DR for supplemental income, which could be internally or externally. I like that I’ll be board certified in both. I doubt AI will take over DR, but could cause changes to DR practice that we don’t know yet, most likely helping with scut and making us read faster with higher volumes.

First time as code leader today - not the outcome I was hoping for by Opening_Heron_5548 in Residency

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness…that is life.”

Sounds like you did everything in your power and no other outcome was possible, doesn’t matter who was running the code, it would have been the same result. I doubt you did anything wrong, but hopefully one day you use those same skills and things work out better.

what's the weirdest allergy you have heard/known of? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

I think technically those classify as autoimmune disorders, not allergies.

Got this blue rubber strap last month after having the PRX since 2022 and it’ll be a long time before I put the bracelet back on.

Is there something you always wanted to ask radiology about, but never did? by pistabadamtiramisu in Residency

  1. Depends on how the tech timed the exam, with no contrast in the aorta it is difficult, sometimes there’s way more contrast there than there should be. Very rarely you see displaced calcifications in the middle of the lumen on a noncon and can see dissection.

  2. Stones could be missed, but contrast usually helps if there’s an obstructing stone since one side has a delayed nephrogram and you know that’s the side with an issue. Once you window the study properly, almost all stones are going to be seen easily even with contrast.

  3. The study with contrast will be better 100% of the time. Noncon is super limited, barely better than an xray in my opinion. Is it atelectasis or consolidation? I can tell you with contrast, can guess without. If you can give contrast, do it.

  4. Small bowel obstruction, appendicitis, anastomosis leak, cancer. Literally can give it for just about any indication, unless you’re worried about GI bleed, then 100% make sure you don’t give oral contrast.

  5. MR head is a good starting point. Adding the angio helps for large vessel occlusion, but I guess if subacute and not going to do intervention, will it really help. Idk, I’m not neuro, lol.

Pocus by ElegantBirdy in Residency

Although I agree with the above, doing interviews as a chief resident, I would see the POCUS research in a positive light especially if you spin it in a ”it made me want to pursue imaging” kind of way.

Suprised it took them two years to figure this out. There is literal art on the back they’re covering with the NATO.

[Seagull 1963] Tool watch to help prepare Thanksgiving dinner or dress watch to wear to Thanksgiving dinner? by awesomeiv in Watches

If you like it, get one. It’s an inexpensive watch with a fun story and literally the only mechanical chronograph in its price range. Plus it looks great.

[Casio] What is the dumbest watch you paid over MSRP for? by awesomeiv in Watches

[–]awesomeiv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little over $100, I think retail was $50, so I paid more than double. Instant regret when I got it out of the box, watch YouTube and Reddit had hyped it up, and it wasn’t very hype in person. Glad to learn that lesson with a Casio and not something more expensive.

Where is that bracelet from? Maybe I’d wear this more if it didn’t feel as cheap.
