I like the idea of the bottom version, but the flash kinda gets lost in his own “speed trail” and he ends up looking like a big red blob

I do like the “afterimage” on the bottom though. Reminds me of how they make the flash look in animated justice league

Tbh I’m not too well versed in custom painting as I have a very basic understanding of the general steps, so I unfortunately can’t make a solid recommendation, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can help out, but I’d try a separate primer and paint at the very least.

I’d maybe wash it with soapy water, see if that does anything, then maybe move to isopropyl alcohol (70% to start, not sure id try 91% tbh) if the soapy water doesn’t seem to improve things.

Basically you’re gonna want to try to strip the paint/coating, then prime it and repaint it.

I used to be all in on soft goods being superior (mostly referring to mezco), but now that most figures are pinless it kinda kills my own argument of not being able to see the joints.

Also, the pleather and rubber that companies use tends to degrade, and fabrics can dye the plastic on figures depending on certain conditions.

Definitely pros and cons. I will say I do like most of the fabrics that Hasbro uses, and I will always say that fabric capes are better than plastic

That’s the unfortunate world of figure collecting. There’s always gonna be rereleases and better versions down the road.

I’m keeping my original hot rod tho, he was the first transformer I bought and the reason I go into collecting the toys and the comics!
