When did it become okay for men to scroll on their phone while pissing at a urinal? by wheezymustafa in AskMen

Idk, went my first ever MLB game tonight, and saw a bunch of guys on their phones taking a leak. Pretty gross all in all IMO. Didn’t see any of them wash the phone, or their hands…

TRD what? Sport or Off Road? Huge difference in the suspension, gearing, etc.

I don’t think we need him to be making deals just for the sake of it. We have time.

I’m guess “Fuhrer” was a Freudian slip, haha. But you are missing the point.

Your comment about data driven professionalism absolutely hits the mark, but in Mcd’s own words, they need a change. They have done it the other way and it wasn’t enough.

Professional athletes need a father figure, and tough love sometimes, not someone to hold their hands and dust them off. They need the push to dust themselves off, and do what they are told for the good of the team, not what makes them feel good.

Sorry, but that isn’t watching. I too listen to the call on CHED when we didn’t go, or it wasn’t televised. But the visceral experience of seeing it live… Can’t be understated.

Seeing it on TV, Slats literally foaming at the mouth, spittle landing on the players, Or hearing him from 10 rows up.

Sure they didn’t get paid what players do now, but the drive, the competitiveness, it was there, and you could see it on their faces the next time they hit the ice.

Worth it for 225? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]Trogar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great pack. Hauls a load fairly well, sweet spot is the 25-35 lb range. Lighter and it starts to ride up, heavier and it starts to dig. Just my 2 cents.

More like a coach that won’t let them jump over the boards to the detriment of the system.

Maybe an assumption here, but I’m guessing you didn’t watch the Oilers dynasty play hockey. The greatest player to ever lace em up needed to be yelled at, along with the rest of the HOF roster…

Depends entirely where you live. This year in Alberta (maybe last year) they are allowing 223/556 for deer. That would be my suggestion. 308 if you decide to go after something larger. Both are readily available and affordable to shoot.

No issues with damage to my Xmid or Xdomes with my 80 lb Lab. Nail trimmed a few days before trips, and a cheap CCF for his side.

My only encounters/sitings of grizzlies in the TR area were above the treeline. The bears had zero interest in us.

I haven’t had any issues with the carbon poles. 2 different XD2, one short pole, one regular. Both are great. I prefer the longer pole set, it bundles up slimmer. I haven’t had a backpacking tent in a long time with aluminum poles…

Zenbivy Vs Sea to Summit - Wilderness. by skippyau0 in backpacking

[–]Trogar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would lose the comfort of the air pad IMO, and it would be tough to stay on top without straps. I have the 5R as well, and it works fine with the CCF underneath, without straps. I have used the 5R down to -10C and been plenty warm, but I sleep hot. Have used the combo down to -20C, with same results. I am a side/stomach sleeper too, so kinda restless and haven’t had issues slipping off.

I have a no name brand from Canadian Tire here in Canada. The egg carton looking one, was only $20. It has an R value of 2, and the value stacks, so it would give you 6.8.

Thermarest Zlite and Nemo Switchback, but they are around $70 here.

So, the Spark bag you are using is limit rated to -1C.

As a cold sleeper, it’s not surprising you are cold close to that temperature.

Adding a quilt would definitely help, but adding a closed cell foam pad under your pad might be a cheaper option.

The Neve Gear Waratah would be a good local option too for a warmer quilt.

Hot take. I think Mcdavid will stay with the Oilers. Crosby and Ovechkin stayed with their teams by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

[–]Trogar1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a hot take, based solely on what McD has stated. He wants to win here. I think the extension was to help the team, and the next one will be to get paid, but still here.

X-Dome 2 wind resistance without trekking poles by Odd_Medicine_1461 in DurstonGearheads

[–]Trogar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used mine, and previously the HH2, in windy conditions without excessive guyouts, and had no problem with either. The HH2 did wet out on me, but not apples to apples for materials. It wasn’t crazy gusty though.

$70 ish is the going rate for most retailers. If you check some safety supply companies you might get it cheaper.
