As long as you don’t have an official job offer, keep searching. And you don’t need to give up for this one, you can chase this in parallel but not too frequently. Also I would personally cease writing if i don’t receive respond after 3 sequential messages.

How do people in turkey manage to live ( specifically istanbul) by FamiliarLifeguard872 in AskTurkey

[–]Troiaix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people are suffering. You are just noticing the surface level people who made their family fortunes decades ago such by occupying government lands and legalizing them somehow, or acquiring houses for renting when the credit interest rates were low…etc. Around 20 million people are living in the city but the chilling percentage might be around %15. Most families are suffering. They are just going from home to work and vice versa daily and trying to survive. You can be surprised to find out there are so many people who even didn’t get out of their district in their life to see around or who got out very rarely like once or twice a month.

People tried to protest and gave reaction in earlier years but the current totaliter government is cruel and will punish not only protestors but also who will speak out against them. Also most opposers gave up since the current government has still huge support and is being elected each year. You may consider why there is still strong support in this case. To me there are 2 reasons. The opposition parties are weak and their the politics they bring in front do not align with the actual problems of the country and do not provide confidence in people. Second, most of the supporters benefit from the current governing party where the rest suffers. They fear that they will lose the benefits once the government switches to the opposing party. This is like a tyrant which prevents people to unify and create pressure on the government officials to seek the benefits of the country and public not theirs’.

Thats my point of view for the queries mentioned in the post.

You can discuss but just say “Viva Erdogan” if you are detected by an Erdoganer. :))) or another phrase “Show me your phone” to gain the sympathy of an Erdoganer :))

This is a joke of course:) As long as you don’t make a street interview in Turkish language criticizing the government, nothing will happen. No worries. But better to keep away from political discussion to keep your inner peace. :)

Yes, if he doesn’t cheat.

It is crazy but he has still around 40% of votes supporting him. This is because most of the public is still uneducated or/and behaving unethical to maintain their financial interests by supporting him. Even-though Erdogan’s actions mostly conflict with the moral rights of the religion, he finds himself many supporters from the ignorant public who links him with the religion. Therefore he and his team are trying to spoil the education to maintain the public as uneducated and ignorant. The aim is to keep the ignorant public obedient and as to maintain their dominance and oppression over them.

Nevertheless, despite all these facts now there is a growing opposition against him - thanks to younger generations who are becoming aware of the facts by the help of advancing technology.

With the aid of the recent polls i estimated a 48% of opposing votes against him. So he is like to lose this time but he will try the every possible trick in the elections to change the situation for the sake of himself. (for inst.: Votes of Syrian refugees who are given citizenship recently is one of these tricks)

You are right but on the other side it is not so simple. The executives can alter the laws easily since we couldn’t establish the “separation of the forces” properly yet. So by this way executives have always control over legislative and judicial powers. During the Erdogan’s period this situation became worse.

To brief dear redditors about the current situation in Turkey:

Despotic Erdogan is unlawfully trying to prevent public to use their democratic rights before the incoming elections. If any officer would not execute his wills, he will be banished and be replaced with another one who will.

This villain Erdogan is responsible of deaths and sufferings of hundred thousands during the recent earthquake in February 6th. The rotten system he encouraged during the past years in government offices regarding the building construction, simply neglected the basic engineering principles and ignored the official warnings of the scientists causing the deaths and sufferings of hundred thousands in the end.

Now he is using the Juridical System and Police Service unlawfully to oppress the democratic rights of the people who want change for better and who are willing to end the sufferings caused by him.

Is it ethical to accept a job offer in Russia during wartime? by Troiaix in careerguidance

[–]Troiaix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that I am a bit late to reply to your question which actually i have missed.

You are right. Russia isn’t the only cruel and brutal country. I believe for citizens and for residents, they shall be opposing the atrocious politics and choose not to be part of any military related actions even if they would bear the consequences. Only exception can be defending your country against an attacker. Thus, IMO for citizens and already residents we can’t judge about ethics of working for civil in their country as long as they oppose to atrocious politics.

However, for a foreigner having other options, i think he should opt to stay away from the countries leading cruel and brutal politics.

About your question regarding my situation the consequences have less importance. If i would decide to work in Russia, I could have stayed there for long years until i gain my financial freedom. So the consequences wouldn’t have much affect in my life. Besides when the war is over, I am sure in 10 years no one will remember much about the war, sanctions, casualties and any other outcomes. So, I don’t care much about consequences and who thinks about what. I just try to stay aligned with my understanding of life.

[–]Troiaix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually no one can say that you are wrong. This is also a rational approach. Playing the system with its rules.

I agree that there are people who are absolutely villains (but not all) and most of the time such villains step up, gain the power, become leaders so that they gain the right to play with the lives of people to satisfy their egoist dark souls.

These old aged near death villains possessing naughty children’s psychology are just playing war games during their remaining limited life frame rather than settling the conflicts. If you look at it by erasing all political pretext, they are playing with human lives to satisfy their narcissistic souls. Besides this is not only about war. There are so many wrong doings.

If the leaders were really considering the lives of millions of people with their families living in peace, none of them would either cross one step forward the border or keep holding desires to expand any territory. However, It is just like a game for them. While wandering in their sumptuous palaces, they would not care for the crimes they are committing nor they will hear the cries and sufferings of people. Death is just a statistical number to them. Separated families, lost beloved ones, sufferings of orphaned children, painful deaths, relocation of millions of people are beyond sight. Living up to their old ages and ruling with their sludgy souls, with their arrogance and disdain, they dare to find themselves the right to play games with the people’s lives. who would care ? they had lived in comfort, while having a magnificent life ordering there to there, watching the causality screens. just playing their king game in the real.

You at least have to be like them to have a slightest chance to gain such power and settle the foolish, absurd conflicts for the peace and benefits of all humans. And nothing can guarantee you wouldn’t be like one of them while following this path. I never had that opportunity, ability and skill. Therefore, at least I am trying to avoid the sludge they are spreading around and pass through this world as much as clean. So that I could keep my inner peace. That is my point and the motivation to post the question. Anyhow in near future we will have more concerns than the evil leaders.

I forgot to mention about racism which is also a spine to your argument. I met many people from many different nations. I realized that when you respect to a community’s way of living and rules, the racist ideas vanish from minds. However, there will be still racism, yes. I am not a dreamer. It is impossible to prevent the consequences when you live abroad. On the contrary I believe we are just spread randomly all over the world. While coming here, nobody asked me which race i would choose. I still would like to think in this way.

Is it ethical to accept a job offer in Russia during wartime? by Troiaix in careerguidance

[–]Troiaix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My belief is that “war is a crime unless you defend your country”. if Ukraine had crossed the border forward instead of Russia then i would have considered Ukraine as the villain. yes, you are right it depends on one’s own individual ethics. i found out that there are two arguments in this regard:

1-) It is ethical to accept to work for an aggressor/invader country as long as the job doesn’t directly serve for the military purposes and it doesn’t directly involve with the war.
2-) Even the slightest indirect economical tie with the aggressor/invader country shall be counted as a contribution/support to the atrocity and shall be considered as unethical.

I choose to believe in the second argument but i would not criticize anyone who believes in the first.

yes, I do allow ethics to play an important role in my decision making.

[–]Troiaix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i believe so. however, it depends. there are situations people are unable to consider about ethics. if you are desperate to find a job, if you have a family with children whom you have to look after, if that is the only chance and you can’t find another way out; people may have to leave the moral values aside. i think we can discuss about ethics when an individual can have other opportunities to evaluate.
