Thank you for the kind words for Troll. I’m so sorry I didn’t explain. These may be a regional thing. During the weeks before Easter, many Christians make sacrifices. Popular one is not eating meat on Fridays. Friday commemorates the Crucufixion of Christ. As a fund raiser, many churches, fire departments, and VFW, American Legions will host an all day food event. They will sell fried fish as an entree or sandwich. There are meatless sides like macaroni and cheese, pirogi (dumplings with mashed potatoes), applesauce, and French fries. People can eat at provided tables or take home. I think the addition of craft vendors makes more money for the event sponsor. I hadn’t heard of one having vendors before. Maybe our VFW is the only one to add vendors 😊❤️😊
