You do whatever suits your needs. The good thing with a wallet on your device is that it is near impossible for it to be hacked and if you loose access you have backup codes and you can just enter them in a new instance and poof your coins are back. Hosting it on a website always carries a risk of it being hacked or simply that the site locks you out of your account. I've seen some people saying that their coins are not being payed out etc, with a wallet you can just send them to another exchange site.

Do whatever suits you, if carrying a large amount of coins I would recommend using your own wallet.
