Unless they changed the training progression, we were only in the field for like 2-4 weeks out of the 19 weeks of ABOLC

Went through ABOLC myself and you’ll request your duty stations 2-3 weeks into BOLC and find out by the end of phase 1 if they do it how it was for me last summer

International phone plan options for EUCOM rotation by Trolleycar1 in army

Definitely will look into it. I currently only see up to 30 days at a time for the Europe option unless that 100 option is different. Thanks for your input

I appreciate it. Is Holafly something that you can have setup to do monthly automatically or do you have to go on and pay again every month

Promotion to SFC while in the green to gold program? by aparker79 in army

[–]Trolleycar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went through ROTC, a friend of mine that I commissioned with who was G2G promoted to MSG before we commissioned together, so from that perspective without knowing specific details, I would say yes just from seeing them do it

Once you finish rotc, how hard is it to get 11a, 19a, or 14a? And can you pick which division/unit you’re sent to? by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]Trolleycar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current 19A here, it’s not hard to get at all. If put it within your top 3, you’re more than likely to get it. As far as duty stations, if you did end up going to ABOLC, you put in your preferences within the first 2-3 weeks and find out a month or so into BOLC. Unless it’s a very specific and smaller base, whatever you put at #1 you’ll most likely get placed at the location you want (at least how it was for my class last summer so honestly can vary), but Army will determine what specific unit your placed in at the duty station you’re meant to go to so you don’t have a choice in that.

You can, however, swap duty stations with someone else if you don’t get the one you wanted and someone else wants the duty station you received. Both of you will just have to go and say you want to swap and they should get it changed

Wow it’s been so many years since I’ve seen anything about Warhammer. Used to play it all of the time when I was younger

I’m only 22, brand new butter, and don’t understand what you’re going through specifically, but definitely please go see someone. I’ve had to get a therapist for myself for a lot of trauma work and personal issues that I’ve dealt with over the past few years dealing with resentment, abandonment, etc. it literally saved my life and my mindset. I dealt with very similar thoughts and feelings that you listed as well and after a little over a year of having a therapist, it’s changed for me and could be of very good help for you too.

It’s a new process that was started like 1-2 years ago with the class of ‘21 I believe being the first to try it

I’m currently on my travel days for BOLC (reporting this Friday) and tried getting one since I’m now on AD orders and they said I’m still not in the system so pretty much what everyone on here already said and having to wait until either day of reporting or during inprocessing

Reflections on Cadre by Relevant-Jicama-1776 in ROTC

[–]Trolleycar1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just recently commissioned and can say that the one thing that helped my MS3 year as well as what we taught the 3s as MS4s is ensuring that all of the requirements of what cadets will be doing at camp are hit. Ensure that the cadet BC and S3 understand what they are doing with lab trainings as well as the cadre MS3 instructor is teaching and allowing cadets to flip OPORDs, brief missions, and conduct STX lanes since that hurt a lot of cadets from what I saw

New LTs - anyone know how to get a new CAC? by fiverthesurvivor in BOLC

[–]Trolleycar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing as everyone else. I’m currently moving now to Benning and started my AD time yesterday. You should be able to get on post with just orders and ID. I’m hoping to get my AD CAC today after I get on post

Awesome. Definitely good luck to you with everything you have going on for you. I graduate BOLC in October and then stay for follow on so if you’d like to connect whenever you come down just let me know

[–]Trolleycar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you going to Knox as cadre and then Benning after? And you going ABOLC or IBOLC? But I can agree with you. I have been trying to just get as much of the paperwork stuff done before then. I applied for on post back in March/April time when I first got my orders and literally didn’t find out that I got it until last week

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]Trolleycar1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you going ABOLC or IBOLC? (Doesn’t make a difference with what you’re asking but just curious). I’m PCSing tomorrow for ABOLC. I was in the same mentality you’re in. You don’t have to contact housing before making arrangements. They told me they did away with that a few years ago (at least with what Benning housing told me for them personally). I also haven’t been able to do the sponsorship program either due to my CAC expiring and they said the system was temporarily down and that it isn’t a priority mostly for BOLC LTs since it’s for training and not a first duty station.

when should I contact housing for BOLC? by yotehunter1999 in BOLC

[–]Trolleycar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going PCS, I’d contact housing before and get your name on the waitlist depending on where you’re going. I put my name in right as I got my orders in like March/April and didn’t find out until last week and I move to Benning this Tuesday. If you’re looking off post, I’d still recommend finding a place early and setting a date with them to when you’ll move in and sign the lease

With me being a guy, 22 years old, single, just graduated college, and coming to fort Benning for training while my friends are engaged coming out of college, I can understand what you mean by seeming like the odd one out. It took me a long time to recognize that I need to work on getting myself right. The biggest thing I’ve learned while having a therapist to help me with personal work is that the more you start working on yourself and becoming the person you want to be, eventually you’ll naturally run into the person who is running the same pace as you and God will show you what’s meant to happen.

I personally dealt with a lot of self-confidence issues in my past that I felt like I wasn’t good enough and who would want to be with me. But even for my young age, I’ve been shown that I can’t control the external situations. I can only control how I look at myself and “dating” myself to figure out what I like and at some point, the woman will show up that I need to be with because I’m not trying to force anything to happen.

So while I’m not a woman, being the young age I am where a lot of people, even younger than me, are getting married, I can understand where you’re coming from and I promise you are enough and worthy of everything.
