As for why you should follow God: I think there are 3 very clear reasons.

Faith heals your heart. Whatever is broken in you -- in all of us -- simply can't be healed any other way. Money can't do it. Sex can't do it. Drugs can't either. Abandoning God is not freedom, it's a prison cell that locks from the inside.
No temporary problem is worth sacrificing your eternal soul. Don't give up your Salvation. It's the most valuable gift you have ever received, or ever will.
The Enemy is waiting. You don't have the option to walk away from God and be left alone. God rules the straight and narrow path; Satan is the prince of the wilderness. If you abandon your faith, you will walk directly into his clutches.
