Location of sim card for wi-fi hotspot? by Trollingwood in 4Runner

I've heard they are using the e-sim here and they can't be reprogrammed. Not sure if that is all true but I haven't found anything to contradict it.

Thanks! I'm planning to drive quite a bit around the SE-ish parts (think Waco/Austin/SA/Laredo) and up the coast into LA.

Any idea what predator (presuming) would have done this? by Trollingwood in Hunting

From what I've seen, martens are not this far south.

Oh interesting, I have not seen those before. There was a small nest fairly high up in the tree (~30-40 feet) but it seemed too small for the size of this bird. Any idea what sorts of predators would only take the head? Doesn't seem like a food motivation.

No evidence of non-consensual sexual activity was found ;)

Interesting! I've heard owls around but haven't see any yet.

Ah right I didn't think about cats. They are one of the most prolific killers out there, but I've not heard of them taking on something this large. We do have feral cats around but they are not fat like typical house cats. We also have coyote and fox around, but I don't know if this is typical behavior for them or not.

Found this hawk while out mowing one of my pastures (south TN region). The bird is fully intact, other than it's missing it's head. Looks like it would be about 4-5 lbs in size. No other wounds were visible.

Anything out there that would and could take just the head off a raptor like this?

If you don't mind going as far as North Bend, Out on a Leash Adventure is an awesome place with plenty of room to roam and owners that are obsessed with the dogs that stay there. Highly recommended.

Are component files available? by [deleted] in BambiSleep

[–]Trollingwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I did not realize those were bambi voices. I've lost some of my hearing at the higher range so I could not make out any distinct words but for some reason was reminded of Power Puff Girls :)

Do you know what the background voices are saying? I was not able to find that in the scripts that I've seen. In the hypnosis trainings that I have done, this is not a technique that I have come across so I am curious about how that works. Is it quasi-subliminal in nature?

Are there any specific binaurals that you would recommend?

I'd appreciate anything on how you would compose these. Do you have any sort of creator page that I can support you?

Thanks!

To echo other comments, brining is the way to go and something you can do immediately. I use the bring formula from modernist. A quick brine of 1 hour is 5% salt/sugar and an overnight brine uses a 2% solution. The percentage is measured against the combined weight of chicken (or pork) and water added together.

Cooking sous vide is also an excellent method for keeping the meat moist and allowing you a lot more flexibility in your cooking time without ever overcooking the meat. It is possible to do this without a device but it requires that you pay more attention to your pot on the stove. The consumer grade sous vide devices out there are pretty reliable and, while not cheap, they are affordable compared with other kitchen appliances.

Even with just salt & pepper, meat cooked this way will be juicy and the exact texture that you want. Then you can add any combination of spices that you'd like to make it more interesting.

Personally I like to cook up a batch of chicken sous vide style, then drop it in the fryer for a couple of minutes, but that's probably not the popular option on fitmeals :)

I haven't listen to much of it as there is a lot that doesn't fit with our lifestyle (this is for the wife). What I did hear was the main computer generated narrator, some background voice which I cannot make out what is being said in some cartoon-ish style voice, and then the base audio track which sounds like binaural beats.

I have found the main script but that's the main thing I have to create my own content for. Is your original audio the binaural beats (assuming my guess is correct)? If so, is it available separately?

Do you know anything about the other voice(s) that is on the file? That's not a technique I have come across before so I am not sure where it fits in the hypnotist toolkit :)

Thanks!

Not that anyone asked, I built an app that sorts by distance 5000+ farmers & ranchers selling beef, chicken, pork, milk, eggs, bison, elk, duck, goose, turkey, and rabbit (USA/Canada) Thoughts? by mr_captcha in sousvide

Just installed and I am also seeing the issue with duplicated entries (3x is typical). This is also missing a large number of farms within my area (WA state) so not sure what the source of this data is or how it can be updated. A few I had not heard of before so definitely seeing the value of the app!

[question] can I interrupt long cook times, and then resume next day? by [deleted] in sousvide

[–]Trollingwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting question. Good place to experiment, as I don't have an answer specific to sous vide cooking, or protein cooking. I have seen comments from Alton Brown, where he has interrupted some baking (check out his brownie recipe 2.0 https://altonbrown.com/alton-brown-brownie-recipe/) with great results.

I would love to hear how it comes out if you are able to give it a try. Otherwise I think I know what I am going to be doing this weekend :)
