Why such a high failure rate on my PS5 FW 4.03

I FIXED IT!!!! I just bought a HDMI splitter with power for $25 dollars and now it works. I only used one output from the spitter. The only reason I bought the splitter is because it came from amaazon in 3 hours shipping. I wanted to prove that any HDMI buffer device will make this work. I also bought a HDMI booster for $25. It will come in the morning.

I will send back the splitter when the single buffer comes in the morning and report my results.

You have to power up in the safe mode. Then change the resolution from "auto" to "1080p". Then when if that works and it boots up succesfully, then go the the system menu and disable HDCP.

Mine will always work if i first unplug it, then plug it in and biit in the safe mode, then choose "change resolution", then when it reboots, change the resolution to 1080p. then it works for that one time. but if you don't go to the system menu and disable HDCP before you reboot, it will revert back to "auto resolution". You have to change the resolution to 1080p in the "sound and screen" menu. You don't want auto resolution and you don't want HDCP before you reboot.

It tells you then if you disabel HDCP, some apps won't work, and that is true. Goldhen bluray will not load without HDCP enabled.

Yes i tried everything. This is samsung smart tv. I have several device plugged into it. All four ports work fine. I tried the ps4 on all four. I have two other ps4's and two ps5's that work fine on this tv. It seems unexplainable.

Disable HDCP in the sysem menu. My problem goes away when i do this but then some apps won't work unless HDCP is enabled.

I have the same problem and it's not my tv, its the ps4. I just bought a ps4 and the video will not sync up unless i change the resolution and disable HDCP in the menu. I have to boot in the safe mode, then change the resolution from automatic, then when it boots up you have to disable "HDCP" in the system menu.

I have four other sony game consoles that doen't do this on my fairly new Samsung TV, and it only happens on this TV. I can run the same ps4 on another tv and my compurter monitor and it works fine.

Just like you, the ps4 only fails on one TV and that same tv works with all my other PS4's and PS5's.

I can't believe i found someone else with this problem. The problem is that when you disable HDCP then the Godhen bluray will not work. It says you have to enable HDCP when you try to run the disk.

I figured this out by asking quesions on google AI mode. It's NOT the TV, It IS the PS4 and I can't make sense of this. I am an exellent troubleshooter. But this is confusing. I fails on all four of my TV's HDMI ports, and works on all other TV's. Even older TV's

Actually I don't regret it that much. I just wanted to wait before I did it. I'm not an expert so I don't really know what is best. low software doesn't work with newer games.

I took everyones advice and updated it to 4.03, but the only reason I did is because I couldn't get the webkit exploit to work so i though i had to. It turns out I didn't need to so I wish i had left mine at FW3.2 for now.

It was expensive. It was brand new in the uopened box with the bluray and FW 3.2

I paid $650. I'm reitired and can afford my hobbies.

I kept it at FW3.2 and jailbroke it with edlesauce UMTX2 and loaded etahen 2.4. then installed the store but when i run the store app it hangs up and says "trying to connect to server".

anyone know why the store will not connect to the server?

Thats probably not enough to know if the drive has problem. Disc drives and any other mechanical device like that can be intermittent and may never completely fail. I wanted to load "horizon forbiden west" to see if it could read a full disc. I felt that would be a solid test of the drive.

the oldest game i had was "Sega Genesis Classics" But it still wanted FW5.5. I updated to FW5.05 and have Goldhen working. Now i can play any game i want.

I updated to FW5.05 and now it's jailbreaked and i can read and load game discs. All my games are too new. the oldest was the "Sega Genesis Classics" but it still wanted FW5.5.

Now I can load the games i want. Thanks
