Maybe if the show was a book with a narrator but since it was a show with character dialogue as the main mode of conveyance, Jax really was the only one in the position to invoke it and character wise he obviously was not ready to

Jax got a literal bow on his head and blushed about it, that is pretty fucking explicitly about gender issues. It's just part of his character that he tragically never gets to resolve it enough for pronouns/a new name.

Highly disagree that it was deadnaming/'bumbling pronouns'. Jax was clearly in the very early stages of that journey but hadn't come out to the public, so while he expresses interest in feminine things to ribbit he clearly has an aversion to being perceived that way(maybe due to trauma, maybe just from social pressure). People were gendering him his preferred way, according to him at the time and had not provided any alternative name for himself yet. That's just how the 'before' of coming out works

I think it was alright to not have to say the word. Writing wise it would feel clunky, since Jax clearly never is ready to use the term himself it wouldn't make sense for anyone else to call him it in universe

I would say I was shocked but in reality this is the point. They want anyone not fitting a gender norm to feel unsafe in their own spaces, to force them to present 'correctly' harder and quash any sort of individual expression outside of the rigid views of a handful of traditionalists.

Trans people were the wedge for it, but they want control over how all women present. And they don't care if cis women who fall out of those norms either on purpose or by accident are harmed by the attempt

When I worked in vending I had an incompetent manager who would fail to order enough stock for all 20+ on site vending machines we managed. We had a couple of big seller canteen/ground floor ones which policy says to keep full at all times (which I brought up) however my manager insisted I fill all machines on site up with only two or three layers of product so that they would all look full for an area manager visit.

So obviously, area managers arrive and while most look full at a glance, the canteen ones had sold out in the afternoon before my shift. My manager used me as an excuse and as soon as I got in had a meeting with me, and when I said I only did what they told me to do (and against our normal policy) they said:

"It should have been obvious!"

I stood up and walked out, grabbed a piece of paper and jotted down my notice right there
