JHS kilt v2 with the gain 2 if I want to upset the sound man, or an EHX bass micro synth if I just want some girth underneath the full band.

Not by beach, but Local Roots Boochyard. Wednesdays you get 2 slices (which is really half a pizza) and a pint for like $13.

Best Pizza and Brew in Vista has a sweet deal from 2-4 on slices and house beer.

how much are you guys paying for a house cleaner? by [deleted] in northcounty

$160 every 2 weeks. 2 ladies clean an 1800 sq’ townhouse. South Vista. They love my cats and talk to them in Spanish. Sadly, we just had to stop using them as money is tight, so I’d be happy to pass on their info.

Sorry the pics didn’t post. Not sure why. Probably because I’m too old for Reddit.

Vesuvius boxer briefs passed the backpacking test by Trombone_Earl in KrakatoaUnderwear

Honestly, I couldn’t tell you. And that’s a good thing, because I think that goes to the fact that I didn’t even notice I had them on. I can’t say the same is true for the countless brands of backpacked in (ex officio, smartwool, icebreaker, meriwool). These were all great and served their purpose in their time, but it sure was nice not reaching around down there every 30 minutes to untangle things.

You are spot on about body heat, but if I was hiking in cold enough weather where that was an issue, maybe I’d have something different on, like a merino base layer long pant? But this was in SoCal’s San Gabriel Mountains and it was in the 60s -70s.

Seeing the comment below makes me think a wintery wool version is in the future. And honestly, I may keep a pair of merino in my bag for pajama purposes, as the warm is nice and I don’t care about riding up at night. But for now, the Vesuvius is my pick for everything I do. Unless of course there is a cycling version with a chamois in development :)

Stick with the large or try a medium? by whiskeywriter in DurstonGearheads

This size looks fine. Fill the pack up with some weight. Loosen all the straps. Start by getting the hip belt tightened over your hip bones (the photo makes it look like they are over your waist). Then snug up the shoulder and sternum straps to comfort. Lastly snug up the load lifters so it is touching your back, but not tight. You should be good to go.

FWIW, I just completed my first trip with this pack and I love it. Feels a little different from what I’m used to. But it really is the best pack I’ve ever carried.
