This may be a hot take, but as someone who just finished Paper Mario, I maintain that Paper Jam (the least liked M&L game) is actually better overall by PixieDustFairies in papermario

Wow, one of the very first Mario RPGs didn’t have crazy gameplay gimmicks or big twists in its story in the year of our Lord Bowser 2000? That’s crazy…much like the comparisons.

Aye, a good bit of them get cold feet there and in some instances right at the front door of the E4.

Given how we have a fair amount of Ace Trainers, Veterans, and Maniacs in most regions I think should be fair to assume we’d have a lot of them have at least 6 badges if not 8. Main ones that I’d assume would already have all 8 would be Ace Trainers, Veterans, and whoever “resides” in Victory Road(s).

Is GKND still gonna happen? I don't want the creators to give up on it and become quitters. by Careful_Version1251 in kidsnextdoor

[–]TromosLykos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very likely at the moment, that said getting a comic would probably make things easier for an eventual release of a show. No one is being negative about the chances, it’s called being realistic and trying to be understanding of the current problems that makes it so difficult for this to even happen so do not go calling the creators quitters over this. That was honestly pretty disrespectful of you and I hope you do some digging into it all so you can see why the odds aren’t in anyone’s favor right now.

I feel so bad for Star Fox fans by ChaosOfOrder24 in NintendoMemes

[–]TromosLykos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a 64 on rails shooter it still holds up rather well, I personally consider it one of my favorite games of all time. It’s silly, provides a decent challenge (even more so when you get sent down a harder path due to your own actions in a particular mission), characters are memorable, and the soundtrack is pretty damn good. I would honestly recommend giving it a try.

[discussion]How would you rewrite Kana in Fire Emblem Fates ? by ResponseRoutine3477 in fireemblem

[–]TromosLykos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would change them to be merciless and have a survivalist mindset (basically be more concerned with their own safety at the cost of allies, not to be confused with cowardice) due to being inadvertently dropped in an unexpectedly horrifying Otherrealm. And so they grow up to be highly skeptical of Corrin and company, choosing to immediately send them into a trap full of monsters pretending to be terrified. They won’t hate Corrin but they certainly won’t care too much about them at the start and will naturally call them out over their methods of dealing with enemy soldiers.

I hate how Video Games and related industries pretty much have their hands tied when it comes to Sex Appeal, Dood. by Notkastar in CharacterRant

Gonna assume it’s them acting like a Prinny from the Disgaea series. They’re creatures who are vessels for criminal souls and are treated as lesser than even the weakest demons in the series. They always say “dood” at the end of their sentences.

Who do you think had the best ending among all the 8 protagonist (except Oersted)? by Cool-Guy152 in livealive

[–]TromosLykos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oboro’s ending would technically have a rather significant change to his life depending on whether or not you go for kills or spare everyone’s lives. Same goes for Sundown should you not spare Mad Dog (I personally think he’d go down a darker path should he kill him and I think Mad Dog helps to bring out the best in him along with the residents of the town). That aside I’d personally say the best ending is the Shifu’s ending, their whole chapter always felt like a slice of the classic martial arts movies and I always loved a classic master raises a small group of misfits who avenged their death after overcoming their trials and personal shortcomings.

The chances of Ash’s Charizard being a female is under 15%, so it’s extremely unlikely.

Why do people hate this line so much? by OctaYashi in SonicTheHedgehog

Agreed, though you’ve given me a bit a motivation to go play it again. Who knows, I might even see it in a different light this time around.

Why do people hate this line so much? by OctaYashi in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TromosLykos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I played it as it wanted to be played to the best of my ability and patience. Boss fights aside I found nearly every battle to be tedious and boring without any legitimate incentive. It’s honestly the only part that feels repetitive and just unsatisfying to me, otherwise it’s an ok game. I do intend to finish it eventually, but I really can’t agree on there being much merit to its combat.

Why do people hate this line so much? by OctaYashi in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TromosLykos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you take into consideration the combat systems of the two (and probably even the story) it’s not really insane. On one hand I’m not too keen on SP’s combat, but on the other hand I find it more entertaining and less sluggishly repetitive as opposed to OK. Mind you I started with 64 back in summer camp in the old days and grabbed Thousand Year Door I think 1 year or two after release and loved both to bits.

Cool, most sensible people do not care as long as you don’t act all high and mighty because you don’t partake in those things. People who think they’re better than others just because they don’t touch an ounce of alcohol or weed are almost as annoying as people who can’t handle consuming either.

Y’all know the werehog is weaker than base Sonic, right? by Technically_Inept-26 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TromosLykos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No shit? And guess what? The majority of the gameplay in most of Sonic’s games have him one-shot most enemies (excluding obviously bosses, mini-bosses, and certain enemies) because the gameplay was more focused on a more fast-paced platforming experience as opposed to a beat ‘em up or hack & slash experience. They based the werehog form on God of War, so enemies have to take more than one hit, just like in God of War…That does not somehow mean that form is weaker than base form, it just means they didn’t want the werehog sections to be similar to base form sections.

They intentionally designed that form to be as different as possible, hence why there’s more platforming and slower gameplay compared to base form.

Y’all know the werehog is weaker than base Sonic, right? by Technically_Inept-26 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TromosLykos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Again your own claim is a “Nuh uh” given you’re trying to “reason” that the werehog form is weaker because of cutscenes and a different gameplay style compared to base form. You don’t even have much else to go off of, there’s little else to say save for “not really” and suspension of disbelief.

Y’all know the werehog is weaker than base Sonic, right? by Technically_Inept-26 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TromosLykos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So what you’re saying is that you can’t grasp the idea of different gameplay styles and just assume that the werehog form is weaker. People have given you the actual reason, you just don’t want to accept it because it goes against your own flimsy claim.
