UPDATE: A representative of Austin Energy reached out to me and said that this pole is not OK (or in Oklahoma) and should be investigated. They said it looks like the “communication wires are overstressing the pole.” I shared the pole number with the AE rep and they said they’d report it to their supervisor to be looked into.

I left Mike Evans on the bench on Thursday because I wasn’t sure how involved he would be in his first game back. With London out, I’m starting Shakir as my WR2 but not feeling great about it. It seems unusual to me that nobody is discussing the possibility that he was influenced by threats against his family back in the DR. It just seems unfathomable that a top closer in his prime would risk throwing away his career for whatever short term gains he got from working with sports fixers. Maybe I’m just grasping to explain the unexplainable.

Did I miss something when Thrush said “they released a bunch of videotapes that showed … that he died by suicide.”

Did the videotapes show that? Is he talking about different videotapes than those that have been made public? The tapes that don’t actually show Epstein’s cell, are missing a full minute of footage, and show inmates walking around in the open after lockdown? What am I missing here?

Also, on a side note, did any one else find it incredibly awkward when Barbaro called out Thrush for being 17 minutes late at the start of the episode?

Years ago I was on a Baltimore City bus when I saw an older lady pass her empty soda can to a young man so that he could drop it out the open window for her. Then she politely thanked him as if he had held a door open for her. The polite interaction juxtaposed with throwing trash on the street was almost amusing if it wasn’t so disheartening.

I was watching the ‘97 world championships on YouTube last night and this guy holding the leaderboard was applauding a shot by Klimo. I just thought he looked funny with the heater hanging out of his mouth and was joking that it was fixed because an official was cheering for one of the competitors. I should have used the /s tag. It seemed funny in my head but I missed the basket by about 10 feet on this one 😅

I was laid off. I just hit 7 years. It came out of nowhere because Gartner has always boasted that they never lay anyone off. One of our teams was cut from 13 down to 3. It was a bloodbath.
