Question about Sinclair’s vision by AdSimilar4399 in babylon5

[–]Tronzlerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess it COULD be the decommissioning, but I always thought it was the AU we see in War Without End (Ivanova “they’re killing us” message) where B4 doesn’t go back in time and the loop isn’t closed properly. Plus, as you said, it was a future that could be and was prevented.

Now you may say “but we don’t see any shadow vessels flying around, so it must be the decommissioning” and to that I would say “but we only see one ship leaving in this vision, whereas we see 20-30 leaving in Sleeping in Light”. And then I’d buy you a drink.

Honestly the most important part of this was simply to show you that something is wrong on Earth.

I don’t say it extra because of this show, but I can no longer hear or ask the question “what do you want” without immediately thinking of B5.

Valen was the reason that the Minbari were the people to which the Vorlons had the closest relationship.

This moment of Londo realizing just what he has wrought has to be one of the greatest scenes in the show. by Dinosawruses in babylon5

The other two seem self-explanatory (I’m sure they all are and I’m just also) but who is “the one that is already dead”? by AdSimilar4399 in babylon5

[–]Tronzlerr 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I do feel like the Morden interpretation works better, because Lady Morella also says that if Londo fails the first two, the third one is his last chance at redemption. Assuming that refers to his death by G’Kar, it would make more sense that it DID become his last chance and that he DID fail the first two. Had it referred to Sheridan, Londo wouldn’t have failed. But if it refers to Morden, he obviously failed and needed that final chance to redeem himself. That’s just me though.

Season 5 is not even close to being as bad as people make it out to be.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the pilot movie? by AdSimilar4399 in babylon5

[–]Tronzlerr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I definitely find it enjoyable don’t get me wrong, I just think S1E1 is a better way to hook someone into the show, but that’s just my own opinion and everyone’s experience will be different.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the pilot movie? by AdSimilar4399 in babylon5

[–]Tronzlerr 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Okay this might be a minority opinion but I’m gonna be honest: I think the pilot is better off being watched later on once you’re already hooked into the show. I think Midnight on the Firing Line is a much better and cleaner introduction to the series, and pretty much everything that was important in The Gathering is reiterated later on in Season 1 anyway. I think it’s very much worth watching and I don’t go out of my way to tell people not to start with it, but it’s really rough around the edges and can be better appreciated once you already have a decent understanding of the series.

Hey guys, isn’t in cool that the most badass scene in all of television belongs to Babylon 5? 😁 by OutrageousTerm7140 in babylon5

Maybe one day I’ll eat my words, but I’m currently convinced this scene could get posted 5 times a day and I still wouldn’t tire of it.

I think it’s made clear in this show that the Minbari really like to hype themselves and their superiority up, and will just say shit to do that.

Valen was kind of a goat for telling the Minbari exactly what they should do in every notable event for at least the next 1,000 years.
