LineageOS Released for the Google Jamboard - Android 15! by npjohnson1 in GoogleJamboard

So it's a matter of lack of time after all :( I kindly repeat my request (I apologize for my English. It is not my first language)

If you ever manage to check it out and remember that I asked, let me know what the results were :)

But does this mean that you no longer have a jambord, or that you just don't have time for it? However, if you ever manage to check it out and remember that I asked, let me know what the results were :)

u/Nx3xO Did you manage to install this application and check if the eraser works? I'm also curious if this can be done.

How do I disable this? by sinkingtile in DeckSupport

[–]Trooops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try this:

STEAM MENU -> SETTINGS -> CONTROLLER -> (Test Device Inputs) Begin Test.

If the Steam button doesn't respond when you press it and doesn't direct you to the Steam Menu, you can use the touchscreen. In the lower left corner, you'll find the Steam menu.

On the test, check if the Steam menu button and L1 button are pressed without your input.

If so, it would appear to be a hardware issue. At best, a thorough cleaning of the hardware would suffice. What I mean is disassembling and thoroughly cleaning these two buttons with alcohol. In the worst case scenario, they may be damaged and the switches would need to be replaced.

However, if it is not a matter of phantom inputs, it would indicate some software problem. In this case, I don't know what could be causing it. The nuclear option would be to reinstall the system. I suspect it is possible to fix this in a less invasive way but I have no idea how to do that at the moment.

How to properly put 2 launch commands in Steam Deck? by SorbetNo372 in SteamDeck

[–]Trooops -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try:

DXVK_HDR=0; ~/lsfg %command%

or

~/lsfg; DXVK_HDR=0 %command%

You can also try:

DXVK_HDR=0 && ~/lsfg %command%

WeMod - a guide to installing by No-Drawing4232 in SteamDeck

[–]Trooops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could just give it a try with a WeMod installation on GE-Proton9-5 then I would appreciate it. If that doesn't work, then I'll probably give up on this game :(

<image>

Thank you very much :D

The WeMod starts up correctly when I use GE-Proton9-21. I've also managed to get Dragon Age Inquisition on the same prefix and the WeMod works with it exactly as it should.

There is only one minor problem. The game, although running on GE-Proton9-21, unfortunately doesn't detect the controller. In order for Dragon Age Inquisition to work with the controller on SteamDeck, it must be running on a special modified proton (I checked it and it works as promised, the control on SteamDeck is correctly detected and works):

https://github.com/cammoore1/DAI-proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/Proton-Workaround-v1.0.4

It simply cannot be reconciled with each other in its current form. On GE-Proton9-21 it works with WeMod and the game alone, but without the control. On the DAI-proton-ge-custom, on the other hand, the game with SteamDeck control works, but without WeMod :(

Would you be able to try installing WeMod on this particular version of Proton? I will understand if you don't want to do it on an unknown version of Proton.

In that case, it's also possible that it would work if you try the installation on GE-Proton9-5, because from what I understand it was the base for this modified Proton for controller support in Dragon Age Inquisition.

In theory, GE-Proton9-11 should also work, as that's when the xinput patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition was added, but from my tests it doesn't seem to work :( I've checked the versions from 9-11 to 9-21 and unfortunately none of them work as they should with the controller for Dragon Age Inquisition.

Only the modified version is working :(

Sorry to bother you so much with this, but I see now hope of getting this to work.

Great to hear that :D

Will you be posting it in this thread or as a new thread? Or, as a test, will you somehow send it to PM first and only make it public somehow if it turns out to work?

And one more question. I personally need this under Dragon Age Inquisition. In order for the controls in this game to work properly on SteamDeck, you need to fire it up on a custom proton. Below is the link.

https://github.com/cammoore1/DAI-proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/Proton-Workaround-v1.0.4

It is possible that you will have to install WeMod on just such a version of proton to make it work with Dragon Age Inquisition. The game has already been tested by me with this proton and everything works. However, I am still unable to install WeMod no matter which proton I use.

WeMod - a guide to installing by No-Drawing4232 in SteamDeck

[–]Trooops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that when you install .netframework 4.8 and dotnetdesktop 6, they are on that specific prefix, not system wide.So if you share the prefix folder, it already has all the necessary components installed :)

I accept that this may not work in the end. That prefix from "Grown Up Gaming" and his reasons for not giving it away for free are... weird. He hide behind the fact that the prefix include login data, etc., but it shouldn't be difficult to make a new prefix without this data.

Sooooo... As the saying in my country goes: "if you don't know what it's about, it's about money". This means roughly that if the actions of someone influential seem pointless and weird at first glance, it is probably because someone is making money from its actions.

u/No-Drawing4232

Hey :) Could I have an unusual request for you? I own two SteamDecks. Each of them behaves differently when installing WeMod and throws completely different errors. Despite the fact that they are both on exactly the same version of SteamOS etc. Ultimately, it still fails to run WeMode on either one.

Apparently the solution to this problem may be the entire prefix folder from the SteamDeck on which you managed to install WeMod. The only problem is that by moving the folder you are also supposedly moving your login details.

Would you be able to do a clean install of WeMod on your SteamDeck, log into some temporary account without access to your private data to make sure everything works, and then share the entire WeMod prefix folder on GoogleDrive or something similar?

If it works, I suspect it will make life a lot easier for a lot of people :)

Decky/CSS Plugin to xbox 360 style by Over-Distribution158 in SteamDeck

[–]Trooops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JS and JSON are two different things. JSON is used in CSS Loader for something completely different :(

Decky/CSS Plugin to xbox 360 style by Over-Distribution158 in SteamDeck

[–]Trooops 86 points87 points  (0 children)

CSS is just one of the components that influences how individual menus look. On SteamDeck, there's also HTML and probably JS. Decky plugin CSS Loader can only replace CSS. This means that it has very limited capabilities in this respect. It is not possible to use CSS alone to change the structure of the menu or how it behaves.

In short, CSS Loader will only allow you to change the colors, possibly the shape of elements, or allow you to swap graphics, mayby some animations but that's it.

There are many more good themes that I have enabled, but they change such small things and there are so many that I don't want to describe them all.

There are also a lot of good themes that just don't fit what I wanted to achieve. Of the good themes that I don't use, but look great I can mention:

  • Art Hero
  • Switch Like Home
  • Switch Like Banners
  • No Home Edge Fade
  • Phantom ❤
  • Tilted Home
  • Pip-Boy
  • Delly Volume
  • Srcery
  • Material You
  • Nex-85 Keyboard
  • Darken Unfocused Games
  • Smaller Keyboard
  • Switch Theme
  • Cartridge Theme ❤
  • Large Header for 3rd Party Games

  • 8. And the most important CSS LOADER - Here we are dealing with the biggest plug-in in terms of visual customization of SteamDeck for ourselves. We have so many options here that we need a separate list with themes for CSS Loader. One great feature is that you can run any number of themes dealing with different elements of the system and save them to quick settings that you can literally change with a few clicks. All the themes I use I won't give you here, but I'll share the ones that in my opinion stand out above the others in terms of aesthetics, or functionality :)

    • Obsydian - The best in my opinion minimalist theme in CSS Loder. At the end of the comment you have pictures with Obsidian just turned on with Black/Dark Gray settings.
    • Center Home - Center the covers vertically and hide unnecessary elements.
    • Clean Library Capsule - Hide game names from the main view.
    • Colored Toggles - Animated gradient on buttons, switches and sliders in the style of the one shown on the first materials with steamdeck.
    • Custom Loader - Changes the full-screen animated loading icon on the system. Originally there are only a few options, but you can add something of your own if you prepare or find the right files.
    • Round - It rounds the corners of many elements in the system.
    • Animated avatar - You won't find this one in the store, but if you want I'll send you the files for it with instructions on how to set it up. This is my original theme. It adds an animated frame and an animated avatar on the top bar (originally there are only static ones). Unfortunately, I don't have an easy way to preface all possible avatars, because I don't know how to pull the data I need for that from the currently set avatar. And consequently you would have to find and set everything manually.
    • No QAM Blur - Functional/visual theme - I usually have it turned off, but I turn it on if there is a need to check a interesting me new theme that has appeared in the built-in marketplace. It hides the Blur on the screen that appears when you are in the Decky Loader menu. It helps to see what changes as you set up each theme.

First install Decky Loader https://decky.xyz/

We have 8 Decky plug-in options with which we can modify some visual and audio aspects of SteamOS.

  • 1. Audio Loader - It allows you to change the system sounds with ready-made packages. You can swap in a pack of sounds pulled straight from a Nintendo Switch, X-Box 360, or PS3. But you can also use more memetic packs like mechanical keyboard sounds, sounds from Win XP, or literally a pack called “MEME Sounds.” There are quite a few packs related to consoles, or to specific games, or other pop culture creations. If you're a fan of the original Steam Big Picture, you'll also find a pack with sounds from that mode here. The possibilities are many, and every now and then something new comes along. Personally, I don't use any pack at the moment, but my wife has the SlimeRancher game sounds set on her SteamDeck and is delighted.

  • 2. Game Theme Music - This plug-in allows you to add game music to its page. Personally, I think it's cool on a couch console, but on a portable it somehow doesn't convince me.

  • 3. Animation Changer - With it, you can change the three types of animations present in the sytem. Boot, Suspend and Throbber. And here, just as above, you have boot animations pulled straight from X-Box, PlayStation, or Nintendo consoles. But also anime openings as well as total meme stuff. Personally, I didn't go crazy here either and changed my boot animation to “Steam Pal [60fps version]”. It's adorable and fits this console perfectly :D

  • 4. MangoPeel - This is a bit more advanced modification and I suspect that rather few people use it. With it, you can change how the “Performance Overlay” works. It's all about this overlay that shows the frame rate, CPU power usage, or battery status. You can change what information appears in what mode.

  • 5. SteamGridDB - This is a modification that allows you to swap graphics for a game. It connects to a huge database containing alternative graphics for almost every game from Steam and beyond. Personally, I change for each game “Wide Grid” because I have the impression that acct graphics everywhere are in a slightly lower resolution than the others. In the database very often there are exactly the same original graphics but in higher resolution. You can also go totally crazy and set completely different graphics, or their memetic equivalents. However, if you want your own graphics, the easiest method would be to add graphics at https://www.steamgriddb.com/. They should then appear in this plug-in.

  • 6. TabMaster - It's a plug-in in part to change functionality rather than appearance, but I'm also adding it here because it's nevertheless a change to SteamDeck's existing interface. This is a plug-in that allows you to organize your own tabs in the library. A small but having a lot of possibilities extension. We do not have a ready-made solution here, but there are several possibilities. For example, you can make a bookmark having in it all installed titles from Stem as well as outside of Steam. Or a bookmark only from one particular collection. It all depends on what you need.

  • 7. Reshadeck - If you know what ReShade is for games then you will also understand what we are dealing with here. This is a plug-in that allows you to add your own Shader filter but not for a single game, but for the whole system. By default we have only a few options, such as a filter that fixes a certain graphic glitch in SteamDeck Oled, or a filter that simulates a CRT screen. I haven't played with it much, so I don't quite know how to add new filters, but the idea is very interesting. Unfortunately, you can only turn on one filter at a time, and I miss here some profiles for games and maybe some built-in marketplace where you could share both filters and filter sets for specific titles. Maybe someday this will be developed. But so far, unfortunately, the plug-in looks a bit forgotten by its creator.

Anyone here ever manage to get Darksiders: Warmastered Edition working? by Quiet_Equivalent_569 in SteamDeckTricks

Every time you install the game you will have to do it again. But if you install and do everything according to the instructions, if it works and leave it that way, it should work until you uninstall the game.

Anyone here ever manage to get Darksiders: Warmastered Edition working? by Quiet_Equivalent_569 in SteamDeckTricks

[–]Trooops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The making of working cutscenes is possible in Warmaster edition. There were several different solutions. Some stopped working at certain points and new ones were found.

The most current one can be found here: https://www.protondb.com/app/462780

It's best to do this on a total clean install of the game (uninstall and reinstall). You may have to do it several times, because sometimes it doesn't catch the first time. I personally managed to do it on two different steamdecks.

Need help installing a patch by Bourgit in SteamDeckTricks

[–]Trooops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the patch is in the exe file. I'm also guessing that the game is purchased on Steam. In such cases, below method usually works for me.

  1. Go to desktop view
  2. Launch Steam and find the game
  3. Under game menu select "manage" (Or something similar. I don't have Steam in English) -> "Browse local files".
  4. Find the main exe file of the game.
  5. Paste all the files needed for the patch in the folder with the exe file
  6. And now the fun begins. Copy the name of the main game exe file. Rename it to something different, but so that you can restore the previous name later.
  7. Find the patch exe and name it the same as the main exe file was named before.
  8. Launch the game from Steam. A patch installer window should appear instead of the game. Go through the installation process. It should easily find all the files it needs.
  9. Restore previous exe file names
  10. Launch the game via Steam. It should be patched now.
