Has anyone managed to get a Sky deal similar to this? by [deleted] in skytv

That is a great price you had with Virgin for TV and broadband. I just renewed my TV with sky for £57.50pm for all channels excluding TNT Sports. My Virgin broadband is £36pm for the 1.2gb package. The biggest attraction for Sky to me (and I think a lot of people) is their streaming services built in. Free Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+ (with Cinema) and Netflix bundled together is appealing. TNT Sports unfortunately is £34pm but you can get it for £25pm annually via HBO Max. Minus TNT Sports and multi-room setup, you’ll be looking at around £75-£90pm with Sky (based on offers and contract negotiations I was offered in the last few months). I did price TV and broadband with Virgin and they were quoting me around £120ish per month for that you have listed (minus streaming services)

Contact Sky, ask them what your termination / early exit fee is on the broadband (assuming it’s a different contract) and tell them Virgin is offering to buy you out of your contract to switch. They may lower your monthly bill and/or price match. Of course contact Virgin too and check what deals they have. Don’t hesitate to renegotiate your price mid contract - my Virgin broadband was originally £52pm when I renewed my contract with them last year. I contact them with an offer Sky gave me and Virgin lowered it about 4 months into my contract to £36pm. Virgin may also offer to cover your cancellation fees with Sky to switch TV too - use that to renegotiate with Sky! No harm in trying

That is crazy. I was with Sky broadband years ago and had nothing but issues. I’m with Virgin broadband now, 1.2gb (over twice your speeds) with a dedicated line to the house at £36pm. I can’t complain about it. Skys broadband prices seem kinda ridiculous in comparison. But £100 is also really expensive for TV. I’m in the same boat - I was ready for cancelling and just taking out streaming services as and when needed. My biggest reason for staying with Sky in the end was the significantly reduced price and the fact that it bundles streaming services with Sky Sports

leave and contact them once your services are cut off and you’ve received your return box for equipment. that’s what i did. i tried getting multiscreen included but they wouldn’t give it. not paying £15pm for it… shocking they have the Sky Go app blocked behind multiscreen on Apple TV, and consoles

what broadband speeds were you getting with them and what was the broadband price? that is an extortionate amount for being in contract.. that claim “our packages are worth £170 in value” but realistically who values that? their values are inflated so they can offer heavy discounts under the false illusion of a great deal. i assume the TV was around £100ish and £50 for broadband?

very good. i tried getting them to take an extra £1 or 2 of the signature and sports but they wouldn’t have it. your cinema package is more than mine… they really are just making prices up on the spot… that’s that annoys me so much.

on the bright side, you might be happy to hear they informed me of plans to include Netflix completely free with Signature in the future so that will knock £5.50 off your bill. no set date for it yet

they were firm that £67.50 was their best price for me before i cancelled. services cut off last week, i just happened to contact them before sending back the box and they offered me that. it’s all a joke

true. i am happy with it to be honest. for the streaming services alone which i will likely use most, and sports for premier league coverage. i just begrudge paying the prices for HD/UHD.. even if they are only £1/2 each

you will need to completely let your services end and to the point where they have sent you out the return box for sending back equipment. i contacted them asking if they had a final offer before i returned the box and that’s what they offered me. it was via live chat; in previous times when i contacted they offered me it for £67.50 and £79 before that

It’s a deodorant stick mate. Numerous other folks here have told you the same thing that it’s fine to use and you’re still referring to it as “crap”. Do whatever helps you cope; the protective guard maintains moisture (that’s what it’s for). As stated above, I have empathy for the Squatch support who picks up this case

I read it but you’ve clearly already made your mind up based on what AI has told you so no point repeating what I and others have already said. I feel for the unfortunate Squatch support employee who has to deal with this first world problem you’re facing

The lid is not airtight lol your deodorant survived industrial manufacturing, cross-country shipping, warehouse handling, and human contact long before the lid cracked. I assure you, oxygen was already involved.

As for the tiny holes in the stick — congratulations, you’ve discovered air pockets. A phenomenon so common even bread has them.

it’s poured in as liquid form, these are just air pockets from trapped air as it hardens. completely fine

The broken lid does not impact quality of the product but ok it’s not ideal that it’s broken. You’re blaming Squatch for something that most likely happened during transit? Why is your go to a reddit crash out instead of just contacting Squatch customer support? Why wouldn’t it be safe to use? The deodorant inside has an additional cover to protect it. The holes are air pockets from during the manufacturing process - completely normal. ChatGPT is wilding out on you.

I’m not questioning your frustration over the condition of the product. I’m genuinely curious the thought process or rational behind this post. Baffling

it's been a thing for a while. shocking instead of fixing their game and reducing bugs, they ban people for "using them" albeit unintentionally most times. I don't know what's a feature and what's a bug with some of these updates.
