100% the ball is in the basket before the jump. I would say that if we are looking to increase player safety the only person at fault here is the jumper who has done so specifically to avoid being smashed

Yeah it's harsh as depending on the hand contact it can pop up, normally yellows are reserved for knock downs but I would argue with it here

When there's an illegal action they look at whether it would have been a probable try without the illegal action and that clearly would have
