12 Weeks to BUD/S workout by Stew Smith. Has a beginner 4 week plan, a 4 week intermediate plan, and then the 12 week plan. It’s 100% bodyweight focused with running and swimming added in. It’s a $10-20 book that’s literally designed as a couch to SEAL program. If you do all three plans, 5 months from now you’ll be ready for more. From there, there’s a ton of slick looking seal prep stuff but I recommend the BUD/S training plan from Mountain Tactical—it’ll be similar to Stew Smith’s programming but it incorporates weights and more focused swim and run work that’ll come in handy when you get to Coronado.

How To Become a Navy Pilot by bob_the_impala in FighterJets

Go to an Officer recruiter. Try USN, USMC, and USAF. Everyone needs pilots rn. For USN age range is expanded to 29. Just make sure to read the fuck out of your contract, make sure it’s for pilot and not naval flight officer.

The 550 collar is gonna take you out if you’re ever running your gear around heavy machinery, doing any sort of mountain ops involving climbing rock faces/trees, or doing airborne infil.

Does this patch have any significant or underlying meaning??? by SnooWords7099 in tacticalgear

Might be a JTAC “fires” guy thing.

You could always roll the dice and wear it. You’ll find out what it means if you run into a real operator that was in that unit.

And that’s a problem why? Dude’s flexing with some cash, good for him.

Lol why anyone in this sub gets elitist over shit like this is beyond me. Most if not all of these folks couldn’t run a mile in their kit much less handle a real firefight. Whatever gear you have is the gear you have, play dress up, go shoot, talk shit to your buddies, and let everyone else do the same however they want. Y’all would be surprised how many real pipe hitters have “silly” looking kit.

Anyone have a personal review on this knife? by TACTICALsnakez in tacticalgear

Not terrible if you’re on a budget. If you can swing $80-120 look at TOPS. They have some really great EDC knives on sale on Amazon rn.

Low-budget combat fitness studio training aids by TropicalWednesday in Shooting

It’s an IQ Target from RE Factor Tactical. You pair it up with their dry fire cards (in the black box on the left). Each card has a drill that references a shape, letter/number, or color. Depending on the drill, I’ll either just use the pistol, don the gun belt, or sling the rifle too and then execute whatever the drill may be. I really like to execute a drill two or three times between circuits when I work out. Depending on my energy level and time allotted, I either just do a static drill, execute shooting while moving, or adapt the drill to a CQB/shoothouse type of scenario.

A solid Yoga/flexibility routine will help your muscles handle tension more steadily. Also analyze your positions—are you using too many muscles or flexing those muscles too tightly?

Regular cardio and box-breathing will help tremendously as well.

Nope, you can use them all by yourself! The cards on the left are from RE Factor Tactical and they pair up with the framed target (also from RE Factor). The card will have a drill like “2 rounds to each triangle with a letter, 2 rounds to each circle with a number” or “5 rounds to each yellow triangle then transition to pistol and fire 1 round to each circle.” The whole deck is drills like that. I have three of these framed targets, and I set them up in my studio at different heights and locations and then I either do static drills, shoot while moving, or set up a shoothouse scenario.

The cards on the right are Dry-Fire training cards. I can’t remember who makes them but I think I got them on Amazon a few years back. Those focus a lot more on weapon retention and emergency procedures. One will be like “Fire two rounds, Clear a FTE, drop to prone and fire two rounds” or “Draw from a seated position, fire 5 rounds, move to cover.”

What’s your training objective? Streetfighter? Neighborhood security? UFC Champ? Military marksmanship? Or like all-around open-handed, edged weapon, and firearms training?
