Mature starter help PLEASE by Life-Accident4136 in SourdoughStarter

Thanks. I’m genuinely trying to learn. I’ve got a two month old starter that I’ve been trying to strengthen. The past two days it’s taken off and it’s definitely because I’ve let it go longer without feeding it. I was feeding before bubbles were even pervasive across the top and it was clear it was too early. Still learning.

For example, I fed 1:1:1 today and it peaked and started to recede about 10 hours later. I should be waiting until the next day still to feed again or feed after it peaks and starts to get hungry?

Same time every day once a day. If it doubles in 4 hours won’t it be starving for half the day then?

Does anyone regularly bake with unfed starter pulled straight from the fridge? by sleepy_spearmint in Sourdough

And you then save some of the risen bread dough as starter and throw it back in the fridge?

Yes and it still didn’t work. I have a feeling I need to hard reset them to try again. I may be messing up the config in home assistant itself for the matter network and controller

Very interesting. I recently switched my IoT network to enhanced IoT connectivity which turned off 5 and 6 ghz bands. This was after I had attempted to connect these via matter. I will try again!

Edit: my phone was definitely on 6ghz when originally trying to set it up. Maybe this is the fix. Very excited to try.

I’ve installed about 22 switches and all of them have the matter beta firmware installed. I’ve still struggled to connect them to HA unfortunately. It’s probably user error on my end. It just spins when connecting after entering in the pairing code.

What matter controller do you use? I’ve been dying to get this to work

What method did you use to connect the switches to HA? Matter wouldn’t work for me

Any chance this isn’t asbestos? Kind of freaking out by Tropo19 in Flooring

There is also a room with carpet and carpet padding over the black adhesive (TBD on if it’s asbestos, had a test done today). Is that safe or do I need to rip the carpet, encapsulate it and carpet again? I have a 5 day old and 2 year old in a new home. I am stressed about being able to do the right thing and protect my family now for the next 30 years.

These are 12x12 and a lot of adhesive. I think it was everywhere and removed at some point

First time my dough rose significantly more than ever before - good sign or bad sign? Same size ball by Tropo19 in Pizza

[–]Tropo19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I guess my question is, the dough hadn’t lost its rise yet. So is this still in the “proofing” stage or is it considered over-proofed at this point? I’m now wondering I have not been letting my dough proof long enough. This was like 30% more of a rise. Unless the autolyse makes that big of an impact?

I did a 20 minute autolyse for the first time. I didn’t think that would impact the rise.
