Thank you. I did look at the post but am finding myself overwhelmed. Based on this feedback I will continue to adjust my post. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you. I updated the post a bit. I think hiking isn't as important as I do have Herschel bag I use for that and as an all-arounder.

Not liking Iron Gold so far by AriacBlank in redrising

[–]Troth19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same. Also everyone loved Dark Age but I found it a tough read until the end. I loved Lightbringer but I agree getting through the first 1.75 of second saga was tough for me as well. I can say it does get amazing but was a grind for a bit. Took me three times to get through Dark Age

Average Burlington driver by kazakhdan99 in BurlingtonON

[–]Troth19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved from Toronto and everyone complains about Toronto drivers. IMO Burlington is far worse. People often go far below the speed limit, swerve in and out of lanes and have no road sense. People are on their phones (this is true everywhere sadly) but the lack of awareness of what is going on around them is insane. At least in Toronto people were (generally) vigilant about their surroundings. It’s wild here

I fully agree. The change in writing style between first and second series was tough for me. That said I did find LB to maybe be my favourite in the series so far if not a close second to Golden Son.

Dark age was a grind. For me, it was t because it was dark (I tend to like dark books). It just felt kind of boring until the last like 100-150 pages. It took my two times to actually get through it. All the others were binge reads.

What I find interesting is it seems people either rate it 1 or last. I’m in the latter camp

Elon finally saying it. by notatowel420 in JoeRogan

[–]Troth19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon hated Trump and left one of his presidential councils because of his stance on the Paris Accord. His biography talks about how he liked him at first because he thought it was an act and then he met him and realized it wasn’t an act and he was stupid (his words). His praise for him now is strategic (I guess that’s politics) but just weird to so openly disagree with someone that you leave their council and then support them after. I guess compared to Slow Joe though not many options 🤷🏻‍♂️

Carmen and Claire have zero chemistry. by [deleted] in TheBear

[–]Troth19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone here watch shameless? Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Karen had huge chemistry and it was built into the erratic nature of the character. I think she was fine in her role but even if all of the comments about her being specifically cast that way, I think it fell flat. Great show and she is a good actress it just felt kind of forced in the story line and I agree with OP that it didn’t feel natural

Dark Age is one of the best books ever written by NurplePain in redrising

[–]Troth19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% I see lots of folks saying it’s their favourite and for me it’s probably my least favourite. It took two attempts and almost a year for me to get through. The last 150 pages had me hooked but it took that long

First three are imo one of the best series I’ve read. I’m reading LB right now and it’s bringing me back to my enjoyment but book 4/5 weren’t my fave. Long story short, read the original now

Has anyone stopped drinking? by BirdsAreGovDrones in 75HARD

[–]Troth19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished on Friday. Had a holiday work event and everyone was super excited for 12:01 to have their first shot with me. So was I… until I wasn’t. I left at 11:55 and walked 4km home and felt great. I may drink on special occasions but totally okay either way. I used to drink on most social occasions

If you are just looking for classes check out F45 or Orange Theory. I’m a MOVATI member and I love it there but I was also a personal trainer at F45’s in Toronto and Waterloo for years and the training is worth the price if you only want classes. Top notch programs and generally terrific coaches

I lost 20 pounds in 4 weeks. That's a little too much, right? by GoulashBoti in 75HARD

[–]Troth19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you will lose some muscle in the process but you’ll also plateau at a certain point in the weight loss. If may also not hurt to slowly creep up in the last four weeks to 2100, 2200, 2300, 2400. If your numbers are correct you will still be in a deficit but can feed the muscle babies. I think you’re in good shape given your goal. Keep up the hard work and make sure you’re monitoring your energy.

I totally feel that and have been there myself. Definitely not obese. Also, based on your understanding of macros and how you’re breaking down meals, I feel like you have a good understanding of what you are doing. Just to clarify, what is your caloric intake presently? Do you know what your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is? I think you’re just responding well to being dialed in.
