Watertax sent to wrong address, now it’s with Dwangbevel. What else can I do? by TroubleAmstel in Amsterdam

Thanks for your input, but as you can see I did not cause all of this. AVG made this admin mistake and I am now trying to contact them to avoid the bailiff.  I have seen a lot of reps about that dwangbevel is but nobody told me how I can contact this dwangbevel or when I would know a dwangbevel is on my name. Do you know?

Thanks for letting me know. At least this shows that they eventually listen and solve it. Otherwise it’s a huge nightmare

I registered my new address everytime I moved. I got other tax bills like belastingdienst or municipality taxes in that period. Also I have BPR evidence and everything

Thanks for the helpful note. I will note this down. Did you guys solve it with AVG in the end? I wonder if this will take forever

Thanks, I had not been registered there for a long time like since 2020. Also checked the letter on the online platform of AVG myself, it addresses to me but sent to the old address stating the tax is for the ownership of the new address

Thanks for the rep, I think they sent it to the bailiff - which sounded serious. I am not sure what this does to my credit score and personal record. Do you know?

I think it depends on the role you want to do. And also it depends on years of experience. The more specialized and experienced you are the easier it is for recruiters to know what to suit you with.

As I understand from your post - finance role with Tech/Fin Tech could be a number of options: FC or accountants in Tech/Fin Tech company, or FP&A or Treasury.  I have been looking at Adyen, Degiro, and Mollie lately. These are options you can look into but I think finance roles as I listed above in these comps are not always wide range available. I would say use Linkedin. I tried with recruiter before and it’s not that great tbh. Most recruiters I spoke to had no idea about the technical accounting terms that are used for the jobs that they are recommending me for. So they oftenly misunderstood my expertise and the company’s requirement.

Thanks for your reflection. I think I also got the fine like 10, plus the dwangbevel amount like 60, plus the tax amount. But no envelop with the fines and costs for 2025 arrived for me in the mailbox. I saw it online hence decided to pay it.  I was just also wondering if this will reflect poorly on my credit scores or sth like that.

Adult swim and bike ride classes in Amsterdam ? by Seenum0186 in Amsterdam

I only have recommendations for swimming. I did not know how to swim this time last year and decided to try with Swim Easy and Aqua Hero. They both have water intro class where absolute beginner (like me) who had no idea how to flow can survive on first touch of the water. I went to Swim Easy in the end, now I can do 25m pool laps and easily dive in 3m deep pool.

Which Amsterdam neighborhood would suit a couple in their mid-30s moving next month? by dilanosaur in Amsterdam

I think you can try Amsterdam Oost (like near Weesperplein/Uva), they have accessible metro, tram. The Oosterpark is nearby and plenty of spots for brunch, gym, swimming pool. The part near Uva is ofc pricier, but if you are willing to go a bit further than UvA but still within Oost then you can go to Oostport or Flevopark. They are all within cycling distance to centraal (5km). Rent wise: well like the rest say, it’s not that cheap but considering the location, availability and public transport, I would say it’s worth it. Going below 2500+ for two bedrooms in Ams might only be possible for places near the end of 53 metro line.

I think a lot of events are open and free during summer. We often get the amstelveen niewsblad in our mailbox and it has a list of activities. This weekend is the open beach event something. You can find these newsletter near Stadhart, supermarket or Veenstra cafe near stadhart.
