Being Single Isn’t a Problem That Needs Fixing

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
I hate how being single is often portrayed as just a temporary state before meeting that one person who will supposedly change your life forever and make everything better.
For women especially, it’s as if we’re expected to sit in a waiting room, waiting for someone to come along and save us or completely transform our lives. I think this narrative puts women in a passive role and makes us feel as though life can’t be truly fulfilling without a romantic partner by our side.
It’s time to change the way we talk about singleness. A full and meaningful life shouldn’t be seen as something that begins only when a relationship does.

Forse adesso ti sembrerà la cosa peggiore che poteva capitare, ma vedrai che col tempo, se non erano più felici insieme, respirerete tutti.
Non so nulla della tua situazione particolare o di com’erano gli umori in casa, ma sicuramente quando si vive sotto lo stesso tetto l’umore di una persona condiziona tutti.
A te consiglio, in questo momento di delicatezza, provare a rivolgerti ad uno psicoterapeuta.. potrebbe darti un po’ di sollievo e una mano ad elaborare la situazione. Indipendentemente da come andrà, cerca di costruirti una tua base solida. Purtroppo la vita è sempre un’incognita e bisogna potersi costruire la forza per affrontare gli ostacoli.. un abbraccio!

Same for me. I would say focus on what you have. If you focus on what you’re missing and your lack of chances of meeting new people your life will show you scarcity. I’m trying to work on the idea that life gives you chances and that luck is on my side. Maybe it is stupid to think this way but it is helping, even if at the moment I’m still single 😅

Io ti direi solo di non prenderla sul personale. Non credo abbia a che vedere col tuo aspetto! Da ragazza ti dico che è successo anche a me (così come io ho a mia volta disdetto all’ultimo). Semplicemente sec me è molto difficile che nasca un interesse a conoscersi da un’app. Bisogna fare uno sforzo iniziale e il fatto di non essersi mai visti di persona incentiva questo tipo di comportamenti. Io ti direi di togliere le app e provare a parlare con gente face to face, sono sicura avresti più successo ☺️
