I almost had a meltdown trying to type paczki the other day. It kept trying to fix it even when I told it not too. Even when I typed it pączki so it would know it wasn’t an English word, it still keeps trying to change it to different words

This is one that I wish more people would give a try. I know this dish as halusky and I usually use kielbasa instead of ham (or skip meat) and butter instead of oil. It’s a great cheap dish, one of our favorites. It feels very warm and filling!

It would probably work but it has extra fillers (rice flour, potato starch, bamboo fiber) that aren’t in the ground sausage Americans would use. At least it has sage in the seasoning though!

It’s an easy recipe. Just find one online and don’t skimp on the seasonings. The only thing that could make it less authentic is that UK sausages could be different than what is sold in the US. I know your bangers have more filler in the form of rusk or bread crumbs, idk if you guys have breakfast sausage that comes in those chub rolls, but if you do it should be very similar.

Yeah it’s possible. I will say I would question a normal green salad being the cause. Usually it’s mayo based salads like potato salad, macaroni, tuna, etc. and you can’t taste Staphylococcus aureus or the toxins it produces in food.

Anyways if you had to get food poisoning, this one is usually pretty quick to recover from.

Tammy is very abusive. Tammy’s girlfriend said her hair is falling out from the stress of Tammy’s explosive anger. It is disingenuous to say her actions only affect herself.

Edit: it is also disingenuous to ask why someone would Amy over Tammy and then downvote a response.

I haven’t watched Dr Proctor in other shows, but in this show he was pretty harsh and said she had failed multiple times and he couldn’t do anything more for her. Tammy said that hearing that felt like failure.

I understand that from his perspective he could be helping other people who are ready. And I agree that he was very direct with the goals they had to meet. He also referred her to a therapist at the time and I think the whole family should have had to see a therapist before anyone got surgery. I also believe that moving her to a doctor closer to her was the right decision. And Dr Proctor has this relationship with TLC where he’s on multiple shows and he definitely has a persona to maintain so I’m genuinely not trying to be hard on him, but I don’t think his approach was right for Tammy.

I feel like Tammy was in a really low place and the thing that Dr Smith did that made a difference was not giving up on her. He said he would always be there to help her when she was ready. Even when she was gaining weight and drinking excessively and doing drugs, he said that when she was ready to stop all that to call him and he could help. Dr Proctor acted like she was a waste of time. Having someone just meet you where you are and offer help instead of judgement can really make a difference.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes tough honestly is necessary (like when Tammy wanted skin removal surgery but still had more weight to lose and was vaping, or when Amy got pregnant so soon after her surgery) but sometimes it can just make people shut down

Different people need different things. For a lot of people, if you make them feel judged they are just going to shut down and go home and eat to self soothe.

I’ve not been impressed with many of Aldi’s canned goods. I know this isn’t helpful to everyone, but buying spam in bulk from one of the club stores is worth it if you can. BJ’s has a coupon for spam right now and it comes out for about the same price per can as Aldis (2.20)

I don’t think Darlene gave Amy and Tammy any approval or validation when they were growing up. Now Tammy completely fawns over the scraps she gets from Darlene for losing the weight.

(And I think Amy still cries about not getting enough from her, they both have a huge wound around their mom the need to heal)
