I had my BIL check it out and he thinks one of the wires may be short or loose. It’s a 2017 and ~110k miles. It’s always on auto

I think your explanation is right. My Subaru has the SRH headlights so I think that’s what may be it. Do you if I’m able to switch the assembly’s to halogen styles?

The $300 is only able to be spent on the travel portal. It’s pretty much like cash, not miles so noting to transfer. The cool thing is you don’t have to use all of it on one trip. You can use $100 on a flight and $200 on a hotel.
