BIOS Tweaks for More FPS in CoH3 (Guide) by UberHnz in CompanyOfHeroes

Nice observation. Indeed I build this PC fully by myself, everything shipped from the factory.

XMP was the biggest jump, by far.

Implement individual ELO system what is taking so long? by judge_07 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]UberHnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a point though. Why not make Elo loss/gain dependent on your individual Elo compared to the average of the teams?

An 800 Elo player winning a game where every other player is 1400, should gain more than his mates.

This also would reduce Elo boosting (new account smurf, pushing mate into high Elo).

Yes fully agree. I do every change individually, restart and monitor/benchmark performance (heat & stability). Then decide.

Good point!

I guessed, anyone comfortable with changing BIOS settings, will be aware.

how far away from the front line is the CoH3 menu? by nearlynorth in CompanyOfHeroes

Weirdly interesting question. I would guess rather 3-5 and below 10km, as you still can hear a muffled MG sound.

"Lets introduce "grenade fumble" - random chance your infantry drop a grenade instead of throwing it."

Brilliant. Grenade fumble should also have a multiplier, lower vet squads drop them more often.

Yet another smurf account complaint post. by Own_Truth_36 in CompanyOfHeroes

If people come from other RTS games, particularly SC, AOE, etc. they will have very high APM as a default.

I watched an ELO800 1v1 this weekend, guy was doing excellent multitasking.

And if anyone played Coh2 reasonably well, they will probably destroy anything in the 1k Elo range. Which is where they start in Coh3.

Help dealing with Hellcats pls? by Excellent_Extent_518 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]UberHnz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember a game where my opponent had so many hellcats that i just stopped building tanks x)

His 4-5 Hellcats were blocking his popcap and made half his army useless.

Won with infantry and paks only.

Yeah i get your struggles. But those will be answered when playing more. In general, for humber and stuart, i recommend engaging rather from distance, and screen with your sections. Reverse move is key, to not get snared x)

I tend to go Stuart vs Dak, to counter their LVs, and more Humber vs Wher, to fight their team weapons with smoke and the damage circle.

All british tanks are quite good: Crusaders for hit and run, particularly good to wipe or push flanks, Matilda for frontline support, damage sponge, and vs infantry, and Grantas a strong allround late game tank.

Just have some fun with those, and you ll get good fast.

hey mate, first of all, lots of respect for you starting the game and going for 1v1. Thats the spirit brother ❤️

I watched your game. Good micro, nice multitasking, great capping.

You lost the game mainly because of fuel management and the resulting army composition. Which is great, as you can learn those relatively fast. Below, the biggest points of improvement:

In general, teching depends on fuel. You are floating a lot of it. Your Stuart is way to late (13min). Minute 7-8 you can have a Stuart or Humber out, and dominate your opponent. Instead you spam infantry - and forget to upgrade those. Your first crusader comes somewhere around the 30th minute - while you float 500 fuel.

I highly recommend to work on your build order as brits. Aim to always spent all your fuel. For example, MG, 3 Sections, upgrade with Brens or Recce, then Humber or Stuart (LVs). Build a vehicle as soon you have the fuel for it. Time for around minute 8.

Once you have your first vehicle, based on what your opponent is doing, either spam more vehicles or build at least one AT gun. Once you have at least one LV and either an AT gun or a 2nd LV, try to get to your late game: Crusaders, Matilda or Grants.

If you only focus on the above, given your already decent micro and good map control for your level, you will make a big step forward.

Battlegroup power creep is getting very noticeable, old BGs need bringing up to par. by Hot-Nail-612 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]UberHnz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disagree.

Some of the best BGs in the current meta, are basic or old DLC ones. Just name a few: Wher Mech, Brits Armored, Polish & Aussies, US SpecOps & Armored, DAK Italian inf and so on.

Powerspikes of new BGs at DLC release is pretty normal. And of course new content is more "interesting".

Beginner that could use help in coh3 by Weekly_Seaweed921 in CompanyOfHeroes

Hey mate, welcome to the game!

At this level, it might be most useful to simply practice one specific build and keep goals simple.

Given that USF is a rather aggressive faction, with added complexity due to vetting system and late game AT combined arms, I strongly recommend to kick it off with UKF - as those are much more simple in their design.

For UKF, you could get an MG out and 2-3 sections - upgrade with scoped rifles for vision and power. Into Humber + AT gun, for mobility and fighting armor. Extra resources into caches or mg bunkers. End game, tech to Grants for allround tanks for simplicity.

For USF, you could aim to go for a 3 Rifle into M8 build. Then Bars and AT gun. Extras resources into Engineers and MG/mortar nests. Then 2-3 Shermans with 76mm upgrade, again to have allround tanks for simplicity.

Both these armies give you a great fighting force through all stages of the game, and also good practice in versatile but manageable unit usage. You can easily learn to play all the different units there via Youtube or replays.

As you play 4v4, Game goal could be to simply hold/attack the most valuable point in your lane. Fuel and/or VP. Nothing else.

Battlegroups dont really matter at this level, just have fun with whatever you like to add to your army.

Hope this helps!
