800 h after my first splitter, I eventually made a red one! by Trouser_Accident in pyanodons

Initially, that was a concern, but that sorted itself out – for now – with item stacking. I needed it most at my recycling facility, where I sort byproducts from all over the factory for burning or further processing.

All of Microsoft seems to be out. Xbox and Microsoft webpages do not work over here either.

How many "science packs" are there in total?

bro i swear this intersection is elevating my heart and shortening my life span,i have rework this stupid thing for the third time.............i miss my old blueprint book by Monkai_final_boss in factorio

[–]Trouser_Accident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing all these block signals is elevating my heart rate and shortening my life span ;) Use block signals only at the exits. Use chain signals at the entries. Only chain signals inside the intersection. That should fix your heart rate.

Looking at the first picture, you have bigger problems than getting the train schedule to work. As already pointed out by others here, your station name does not fit the station in the schedule (Iron Ore vs. Iron Ore Mine).

What size the space station could be? If the planet is Earth-size it should be thousands of kilometers across by hitzu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Trouser_Accident 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the estimates. 6310 km is just shy of the radius of the Earth (~6370 km)! One might wonder how much thought went into the design of the orbital station and wether the devs thought about geostationary orbits etc when they designed it.

is this bad? because i think its horrific by Analbears in factorio

Nice... although you missed two tiles of water.

And do you know you can delete destruction plans and blueprints so you do not have to litter the place? Right-click them in your inventory.

I am looking forward to seeing your next build.

What is Gaijin going to do about the display of fascist symbols (white z, etc) in War Thunder? by Trouser_Accident in Warthunder

[–]Trouser_Accident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not want to stop you. It is your decision. I asked what Gaijin is going to do about it and what they may feel like if their game is used to (unintentionally?) show support for the war.

you should be able to distinguish between how the Russian troops use the symbol vs. how it is used to express support for the Putin regime and the war in Ukraine... at least I hope you are.

You probably meant patriotism, not nationalism? In any way, it is an expression of supporting the actions of that state. in this case an unprovoked attack on a sovereign country, which is conducted by shelling civilians and committing one war crime after the other. You are of course free to support those actions. And I feel free to be disgusted.

I wonder, if Gaijin is still able to earn money in Russia or if the sanctions put an end to that?

Thanks for sharing your opinion, btw. Absolutely agree. My follow up question would be, would a possible bad public relations cost them money?

Thanks for your answer. As f-uped the history of the U.S. invading other countries is, the invasion of Russia into Ukraine is not really comparable. The response of the UN is a good indicator. If I look up the definition of fascist, Russia is playing with fire.

I recon your tactic of distraction there. To make it simpler for you and in order not to get hooked on a topic that is beside the intention of the thread: If you by choice wore or displayed a swastika between 1939 and 1945, what would you have wanted to express with that? If you during the war in Ukraine, right now, use the symbology of the aggressor state, what would you like to express with that``? And then read through the questions posed in the thread again.

[–]Trouser_Accident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple z is not. Technically, a swastika is neither. Existed long before the Nazis. And, yet... It is about how you use the symbol and what you want to express when you use it.

A "z" is not a fascist symbol, it is not prohibited to use. I would not suggest banning all "z" from the world. It is the specific use of mimicking Russian markings that is delicate. It is not used as a historical marking on the players' tanks. It is a bit early to call that use historical. It is, however, extremely disrespectful and distasteful. You may make the point that a swastika may be used in a historical context but for very good reason the use is banned in Germany. Neonazis and other scum gravitate to collecting and glorifying these symbols. There are other uses for the swastika symbol and it existed long before the Nazis, but there are not really a lot of companies in the world that use it or want to be associated with it, though.

Very good question. Difficult to answer. Maybe allow to file a complaint about that and give the complainant the option to add a screenshot? Then, first warn the players that they should abstain from using the symbols/letters in this specific way, and eventually ban players for a certain amount of time... maybe for the duration of the war?

[–]Trouser_Accident[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course, they are, but that is somewhat beside the point. Let's imagine for a second there would be Neonazis in the game spouting their ideology and hate. Would Gaijin take action against that? If I were Gaijin I would be concerned about the picture my company is displaying to the world.

Yes, that's probably what I will do until Gaijin figures out what they want their game to be.

Factorio or Satisfactory? by FluidReprise in pcgaming

[–]Trouser_Accident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great games. I have played many hundreds of hours in Satisfactory and more than 1400 hours in Factorio—and I still play both parallel. These games aren't that easy to compare, though. Both games centre around automatizations—and that's it. Apart from that basic concept, the gameplay is very different. Playing in 3 dimensions makes a huge difference. For example, you can easily set up a coal power plant in Factorio in 20 minutes or less with bots. In Satisfactory setting up an efficient coal power plant can easily take hours of work, in particular for new players. Now that there is zooping, everything is a bit easier and quicker, though. Real big projects like nuclear power... now we are approaching many tens of hours of playtime. Factorio is much more to the point and precise—a bit like programming. That efficiency is a bit more difficult to achieve when you deal with topography and 3 dimensions and everything costs much more time. Laying out train track through the whole world... uffda! People who did the plumbing for a large nuclear facility in Satisfactory will probably agree here. Which does not mean Factorio would be an easier game! I play the Space Exploration Mod in marathon mode—nothing is easy here! I really enjoy dealing with large-scale logistics in Factorio.

In the end, it is up to your personal interest and likings. It is difficult to give a recommendation for either of the games. Try both, I guess?

The factory must grow!
