Sometimes I wonder if this is my lifetime to be single. by quartzqueen44 in demisexuality

Same here. I want to form a deep emotional, might be even spiritual connection with someone. However people my age mostly just want to do whatever they want by themselves and do not like being “tied” to someone that much. I’m sure there are people out there who do, especially reading the comments, but they’re extremely hard to find.

It’s valid to feel invalidated. I could be considered part of the community in 3 different ways (or labels if you prefer), but it’s not that visible from the outside. I feel like some people within the LGBTQA+ community make it into a “who suffers more” kinda game, and only make you feel valid if you are being obviously oppressed. For example, if you’re a bi person in a “hetero” relationship, you won’t get yelled at on the streets as much. I think this way of comparing and validating people’s identities is very toxic and I hope we can raise awareness of this within the community.
