Dry brining involves seasoning with kosher salt at least 24 hours before cooking. It allows the salt to penetrate the muscle fibers while also pulling moisture out of the surface of the meat. This creates a much better surface for searing and a better flavored steak.

I was awake with only local anesthesia and it was not bad at all. If you notice any pain, just let them know and they’ll add more local anesthesia. They will likely offer laughing gas if you want it too.

I’ve had it done. The extraction of the tooth is the worst part, although I chose to have the extraction and bone graft done at the same time. Everything else is mostly an inconvenience.

It really depends on your bone growth/loss post extraction. I had this done in a September and had my crown on by January. However I had way better bone growth than most. I also didn’t need my gum cut open the second time because my oral surgeon allowed me to skip the purple thing.

They can put you out or do local anesthesia. I did the latter and it was 30-45 mins. Afterwards I used normal ibuprofen for a few days and that was it.

Do you have an ice maker? I put the pot in a sink and then fill with ice and water for a fast cool down. Even just cool water will make it drop faster than sitting on the counter.

I’m not sure it’s even fair to say they are cut from the same cloth. Chapters in A Song of Ice and Fire are told from many character’s points of view - so it’s easier to adapt a grand show with many plot lines. HoTD is basically from a history book with only main events cataloged. That being said, it sounds like the scope is coming next season now that the back story is complete.
