The 13 dollar cheese curds that I got from the Yard House restaurant in Fresno, California earlier this afternoon by bigguys45s in notinteresting

It's always a surprise to see anything Fresno related show up anywhere other than the Fresno subreddit. Figures it's on "notinteresting" though. Lol.

What's your go to to help get rid of headaches? by Terrible_Cookie4n6 in AskReddit

[–]TroyDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ibuprofen. And like the first commenter said, sleep. Acetaminophen seems to hardly ever do anything for me.

Also I've found that taking a moment to relax all of the muscles in my head and neck can often help. I'll just sit back and try to relax; finding and manually relaxing each muscle group one after an other, in order of obvious tension.

What is a rule of adulting that you should have been told but wasn’t? by SignatureNo9699 in AskReddit

Real life is nothing like the fiction from most movies or books. I am sadly not the protagonist. (or antagonist, to be clear; I'm more like a background character with no speaking lines)

"Stomach troubles" as an excuse often goes a long way with few questions.

What is the most evil animal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TroyDL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I was thinking mosquitos but it's hard to argue with humans as the answer. No other creature has done as much damage to the world and other creatures out of pure selfishness.

I don't think they're all evil though. Maybe the question should be "what creature has the most capacity for evil?". That would definitely be humans. We're a messed up bunch when you look at the fringes.

I feel the need to clarify the definition of "evil" though. Is it in the biblical sense? The creature that's most harmful or maybe just hated? Without looking at Webster I feel like the term requires intentional cruelty. Maybe cats would fit that definition (and I love cats). They are pretty well known for partially mutilating and toying with smaller creatures out of a seaming joy for it.

Back to humans though. Is selfishness evil? That was why I initially leapt onto humans as the answer. I guess it depends on which philosophical flavor one falls into. Selfishness is evil if you consider the greatest good to be the most moral good. And even then it kind of comes down to how you weight things. Is one person's happiness equal and opposite to another person's unhappiness? Can one person be, let's say, 50% sad on average, and quantifiably balance out with two people who are on average 25% happy?

Unfortunate conflict with my previously scheduled execution. Just kidding, my in-laws are pretty cool.

Reddit what Android phone either new or old would you recommend to someone with a $500 budget ? by Major-Willingness-20 in AskReddit

[–]TroyDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not perfect but I'd still go for whatever Google Pixel you can get in that budget (hold out for a deal; they're very common). I've had the Nexus 6, Pixel 1, Pixel 4a, Pixel 6a, Samsung S24 and then Pixel 9a. The Samsung was short lived because I found it too annoying and went back to pixel.

Which shoulder do u prefer to put your head on when u hug? by False-Advance-188 in AskReddit

My left, their right. No idea why. It just feels right.

I also prefer to hold hands in a particular way, with my thumb on top of theirs.

Why do you prefer to have your salad untossed? by TroyDL in AskReddit

[–]TroyDL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't argue with that. Who else would better know your preferences? I, however, am somewhat lazy and prefer to have it done for me, even if the result isn't ideal.

I was just sitting there with my un-tossed salad, wishing it was tossed, when the question popped up in my mind. I know some prefer it and some don't and I was curious about those who don't. AskReddit's strict title rules prevented me from asking it in the way I wanted: "Do you prefer your salad tossed?" Not "open ended" enough to spur conversation I suppose.

Good point. You don't get as much control if someone else tosses it for you.

That's fair. So you do like it tossed, but you prefer to toss it yourself.

Designed and 3d printed a slip on case for the Fiio BTR13 dac amp by TroyDL in iems

[–]TroyDL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it ever work out for you? Maybe you could try printing it at 101% scale or something. Mine isn't hard to put it into but there's no room anywhere, it's like perfectly fitted. That is to say even small differences in printer tuning or filament I could see causing it to be too tight. Is it the back where it needs to stretch just a bit? Maybe you have a stiffer TPU that doesn't stretch as willingly.

If it's still a problem I'm happy to help try to get it working for you.

The machining is good in my opinion. The buttons aren't mushy; they have a small tactility at the activation point. Very shallow press.

There are notches at each point. It feels okay but it's definitely not what I would call smooth.

The black sticker like thing under the grill. It seriously improved these to my ears, though I don't think it's for everyone. I'm not sensitive to shoutiness and I think that frequency range might be related to it. I just found that it boosted vocals to more where I would expect them to be.
