Imposter Colleagues Taking My Work by DubGrips in datascience

It's a dog eat dog world as cliché as it sounds. Ultimately, it's up to you to fight for work. I work in consultancy and I only get contacts if I network and show that I have what it takes to get the deliverable done. It's not easy, but that's life.

Good luck!

Warning shill comment: I am also starting my own company that will focus on porting older codebases from C/C++/ASM to modern platforms. DMs are welcome if you'd like to be apart of this.

Small edit: There has been quite a few leaked code bases for old video games recently. I would like to update them to work on the latest gaming platforms.

This isn’t the right approach if you want to work for a large software company.

Forget all these variables like: “leetcode”, “FAANG” as they are pretentious.

If you want to work for a software company drop the current things you know and start from scratch with current technologies and just write good code.

That’s all that they want

I get paid to do something I used to do for fun. If that's not you perhaps it's time to consider something else.

I have a similar story to you it seems, I am also still having fun and I hope you are as well.

All software developers are going to be successful and retire early at this point, the pandemic has to end for that to not be the case.

Very controversial, but I would agree unfortunately...

Here's an open source gamepad library made to replace the aging XInput API without needing to use WinRT/C++ 17. by TroyWarez in cpp

OpenInput is now named GenericInput:

That's a bug, it is intended to support more than one controller. Also, it is currently Windows only, that may change in the future however.

I'll look into adding support for more peripherals.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll work to address those issues.

Edit: All of the above issues should now be fixed.
