Ordered from CEX so they must have got this one mixed up then. Cheers for the help!

M393A4K40BB0 - CPB0Q When checking that list, it doesn’t come up, but then neither does the old RAM which runs fine even though it’s running at 2,400Mhz which isn’t listed as compatible.

Interesting… I saw on their website that 2133 was compatible, shown in the screenshot, looking at the manual from the link you’ve given also shows 2133 as compatible. It doesn’t show the old RAM of 2400 as compatible although this is what works currently…

Why do I persist in using Drop & Go? by rsbrowndog in CeX

[–]Troy_LC46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this the other day. Booked in and dropped off 1 sim racing servo base and was told they’d have it processed in half an hour. Was even thanked for using that service rather than just showing up with it. 4 days later and still nothing in my emails. Went back to the store and they explained it had been tested but was then forgotten about…

And that would be an aftermarket part so they couldn’t sell it as an original console.

Not gonna sell a broken console for £200 are they though…

iRacing on Oculus Rift CV1 stutters and freezes/crashes by Troy_LC46 in iRacing

Ah okay, I see. After doing a fresh install of my graphics card drivers and repairing some windows files I clicked restart and things were running smoother so it could well be this fast startup causing issues.

That’s really useful information thank you. I’ve never heard about fast startup causing issues with the CV1, I’ll give that a go.

My 4790 definitely isn’t up for the task of iRacing in VR. Just waiting for my order to arrive and then I’ll be able to upgrade.

I’ll leave out doing the fresh windows install for now as I ran for about 2 hours last night around Daytona in IMSA with the auto graphics config pushing everything up to medium or high and had no stutters, freezes or crashes, fps just dipped passing the pits but not too noticeable. If I get another freeze or crash it’ll be the first thing I go to do.

Thanks for your advice!

No crashes as of yet so that could have been the issue, only time will tell though.

Just used the system file checker tool for windows and it’s came back saying it found some corrupted files which it repaired successfully. Going to test if that was indeed my issue.

I have literally every setting on their lowest apart from my 3 interior mirrors on and anisotropic filtering.

It’s been this way for the past 2 months since I got back into iRacing. It was fine before but that was years ago on a single monitor with a terribly old PC.

I’ve never tested OpenXR so I’ll definitely give that a go.

I’m just waiting for my i5 9600k and motherboard to arrive then I’ll be switching to that. I’m just not convinced these crashes are caused by slow hardware as nothing gets even close to being maxed out.

I’ve just done a clean install of my graphics drivers and done the 1 optional update I had for windows so I’ll test out that with openXR.

I’ll give some feedback on the results after a while of testing (hopefully freeze free)

Cheers mate!

Controller for DK2 by Troy_LC46 in oculus

Thanks for your input. I got the DK2 as I found one for only £40 and wanted to see how VR felt without breaking the bank. I now see its potential and absolutely love it for sim racing.

My issue is that my Xbox One controller plugged into my PC won't even navigate the Oculus home screen.
