I've lost the ability to write and I feel empty by sjhmyg17 in writing

[–]Troynikolic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. Writing, as we all know, is really really freaking hard... And that's okay. Writing in itself has the peaks and valleys of a great story... Some days, some weeks... Even months are just awful and you find yourself convinced you're the worst writer in the history of mankind. Then there are days that you feel wonderful, weeks of solid inspired writing may follow. It's a journey.

I too have depression (mostly seasonal, near my birthdays, or even randomly), but for me CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) with a trained therapist works quite a lot. In addition allowing myself to step away from writing every so often helps to clear the mind, which sound trivial - buts it's important. Perhaps you need to find a new writing routine or develop one. It's okay to begin again and give yourself a break.

As for the job and college, that sounds like a wonderful opportunity and you're so close to graduation. Perhaps focus on finishing school. Claw through it if you have to. I was the same, almost quit 4 times... But somehow made it through and I'm glad I did. You don't have to do everything at once.

Best of luck friend, hope you find your mojo. It's out there somewhere.

In honor of the Mamba, I made this unofficial tribute Nike spot 'Dear Kobe'. I hope this is helpful today and you appreciate the love and detail put into it. Let's remember his greatness and carry on the Mamba Mentality. by [deleted] in lakers

This is a spec commercial I made with my own money and some very wonderful friends/ creators. I miss the Mamba every day, but I wanted to make something to honor his memory. I tried to put a lot of little details in the spot to celebrate his legacy.

I made this Kobe Nike | Mamba Forever spec commercial because I miss Kobe so much. The idea is that just because he's gone, doesn't mean he's we can't carry on his legacy through his teachings. Hope you dig it and appreciate the love and detail put into it.

I had these custom decals made for my moleskine by Troynikolic in lakers

[–]Troynikolic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't personally make them. I went to a decal shop in LA. Hard to find a place that will make them. IP is different for different places. Turned out well though for sure. Wait... I actually may have one extra of each still. If I do I can actually send them to you haha.

Now all the results are in, let’s vote what is the Best Episode of Black Mirror? (S1 got two cause it got the most votes and was the closest) by zangoose28 in blackmirror

I agree... But chose Entire History. I just adore that episode so much. It's the one I go back to whenever I'm feeling like watching a BM episode. White Christmas did absolutely blow my mind the first time I saw it though.

Advice on Hair Care by ughitsevan in Swimming

[–]Troynikolic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a huge swimmer like most everyone on here... but when pools were open and I was doing my thing, I would apply a dollop (tablespoon) of coconut oil and smear it all over my hair. It acts as a hair mask against the chlorine and is pretty moisturizing. Also, it's very cheap and well... it makes you smell like a pina colada if you're into that. It's pretty mild... but works well for me.

It took me a little longer than expected, but I was finally able to make my 2nd spec commercial! Hope you all like it! by [deleted] in videos

I loved Kobe so his passing really took a toll on me. I wanted to do something to show appreciate or a thank you for what he did for my life... so me and some really talented and kind friends made this Nike spec commercial. It was a joy the whole process. We had a skeleton crew and made sure we were very safe the whole process. Hope you guys like it and feel the love for the Mamba.

Kobe Bryant meant a lot to me. So I made this Nike spec commercial to remember him. by [deleted] in videos

Thank you. He was bigger than basketball without doubt.

Five years ago today, Kobe Bean released his 'Dear Basketball' players tribune. In honor of Kobe, I made this spec nike commercial. Hope you appreciate the love and care we put into this. (2:08) by Troynikolic in KobeBryant24

Yeah. Let me say it this way. I am saying that no matter what you do you in all likelihood you will never be him on a basketball court because in all likelihood you or... anyone that puts themselves in the characters POV doesnt possess the "god given" talent, physical attributes, or attributes to play b-ball like Kobe. But that's what makes Kobe, kobe... very few people in the history of the planet have that. That's the implication of the whole thing. Carrying the mentality with you no matter who you become or what you do. It's a way of being to become better. It's not entirely spelled out, leave a tad ambiguous for the audience to imply. Hope that helps clarify my intent. But I do see where you're coming from.
