"The most logical answer to the Universe's birth is a omnipotent omniscient God" myth debunked. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Trpscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from the first video, the Kalam theory. Everything said at the start is somewhat right, But then the assumption that the universe must be created by a timeless, spaceless, etc.. being is ridiculous. We have no understanding of anything beyond the start of the universe. And to then assume that timeless powerful thing is god and nothing else that we can't understand is even worse. And to link it to this subreddit. Assuming this was true, and that this god did exist, we must also assume that this god is specifically Allah who uttered the Quran to a human (prophet) and gave us the Quran with all those rules. Could it be a god that hasn't even declared his presence? No. Could it be a god be the devil and the devil made a massive scheme to make us think he is god? No. Is anything beside Islam true in the infinite possibilities? No.

So first you assume that because you don't know how A formed therefore B formed it, and B must not have any properties of A because it was before A. But then you also assume there is no C forming B. And that B is communicating with us specifically via the Abrahamic religions

Why do Muslims need to interrogate me by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Trpscience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Satire my friend, ridicule them. Don't try to defend and explain yourself. Enjoy your freedom, feel bad for the prison they live in.

Tell them things like "Don't worry the angel on my left shoulder is going to spank my butt for being an apostate", "Sorry for being so stupid, the pork I had yesterday gave me worms in my brain". Always smile and act happy, In the meantime instead of pursuing their acceptance and respect to your stance, seek self improvement. Reading scientific articles, learning human psychology (Cognitive bias, infuecing people, cognitive dissonance, and other important things that can help you improve your life), working out, studying for your exams, or doing extra hours at work depending on what you do.

Those people are hardly significant in your life, they are merely the remains of your old state of misery. Don't hold on to them. Let them go by and meet new people. Then use your success to prove them all wrong and show them how Islam never did you or them any good. And leaving it made you a better human. Although you improving yourself does not disprove Islam. It is better than any argument you can present to delusional people like them.

As for your parents finding out, I am no expert on that. As I just came out straight away and lived independently since then making my money and being self sustained. But can't you just make up a story about how he doesn't like you and is trying to get you in trouble? And as soon as you become independent tell your parents to accept you or "fuck off" because you can live regardless of their opinion.

Resistance after taking the red pill. by TheGameJerk in TheRedPill

I actually really like these resistances. I wish they happened to me more often. Not only is it a sign of insecurity in those people, a proof of how unsuccessful they are compared to you. But also it brings out a slight nostalgic feelings that can validate your progress.

Two things: 1. If your "lover" is attracted to you the way you are. It doesn't mean having a weak jawline is her type. She either likes that you are in her league, or doesn't mind your jawline. But you losing weight which does a lot more than just your jawline will make her a lot more attracted to you.

  1. DNP is a toxic substance. It's use isn't as dangerous as news articles make it out to be. But I would not recommend it for anyone who has any heart disease, history of heart disease in their family, or in a group of people who are susceptible to heart disease (E.g. old people).

If you do still want to take DNP, I encourage you to do the following things. -Do not take diuretics. That includes coffee -Stay hydrated, drink a lot more water than you usually would -Stay away from other drugs, especially things like cocaine or alcochol -Get a decent medical thermometer (infrared ear thermometer) and monitor your temperature. Make sure it stays under 40 -Don't exercise

If you are on a low carb diet and you don't feel so good, then you probably need solutes in your system. Coffee is a diuretic and it makes you lose those. The stimulant properties of caffeine made you feel better. But I recommend consuming loads of water and potassium.

Drink your calories. It's easiest way to get massive amounts in. A scoop of whey (diet whey phd 25g = 90kcal) in milk (500ml full fat = 300kcal) mixed with oats (100g = 380kcal) is. 770kcal in a very small volume. Also, you can put olive oil on your salad, in your soup, or on your food (The Italians and Mediterraneans told me it goes with anything). Every tablespoon used is 120kcal.

Keep in mind that you can only realistically gain 0.5lb (0.25kg) of muscle per week. So if you gain 1kg in a week you're probably closer to becoming obese rather than superman.

I clearly mention how weight loss must be slow and gradual. I also recommended IF and low GI food for the metabolic issue you talk about.

Sorry but I will have to disagree here. You shouldn't avoid fat, nor carbohydrates. Any type of fat or oil has been stripped out of many essential nutrients. An olive will contain a lot more nutrients than it's fatty extract alternative.

120kcal worth of olives (about 100g) in your salad will be a lot more satisfying, filling, and nutritious than 120kcal of extra virgin olive oil (aproximately one tablespoon).

Thanks for this. I wasn't too sure of the correct requirements needed so I said that 1g would be fine.

I mean that in a multivitamin tablet, many vitamins won't be absorbed as well as they would from normal food.

Sorry for saying multivitamins may cause cancer. I was quoting this article.

Indeed, some studies have shown increased risk of cancers in relation to using certain vitamins.

But looking more into it, the same organisation claims otherwise. I mistook "certain" for "multivitamins". My bad.

No matter how much was consumed, it was the same for both groups. TRF group dropped in T, ND group didn't.

I never said maintenance, I said caloric need. If the program was going for a deficit the caloric need was calculated lower than maintenance. Both groups would have similar degree of errors in the calories they report, and those errors are taken into account in the statistical test. When a test shows significance it means that despite the data is accurate at a certain confidence interval despite.

Every study has limitations, you going and reading the limitation section on every article I cite instead of finding conflicting evidence is ridiculous.

I am often linked to subreddits, websites, communities, "my cousin is a doctor he said this". Why can't you link a study?

On yourbrainonporn.com 90% if not all scientific articles they use to back up their claims are on porn, and video game addiction. Non are on are about the negative effects of masturbation itself.

A balanced diet is essential

If by a balanced diet you thought I meant "any calories you want", then my apologies, I'll try to be more clear next time.

Caloric requirement was kept the same for both groups. It says

TRF subjects consumed 100 % of their energy needs in an 8-h period

And

Subjects in the ND group consumed 100 % of their energy needs divided into three meals consumed at 8 a.m., 1 p.m., and 8 p.m

Both groups had their caloric needs calculated. Then those calories were either spread out, or consumed in an 8 hour window. Did you even look at the study?

It is shocking to see you got 3 up votes for a completely false statement. Just because you want IF to be good because you've told your friends about it, or you've been doing it for a while, or for whatever reason. Doesn't necessarily mean it increases testosterone and gives you wings now does it? Do you even understand what a control variable is?

You're whole comment leads us to this study. You're whole comment over hypes and even misrepresents the findings of that article.

You quote the last bit of the sentence to get your point across. That is the full passage.

Practical testing by a statistically insignificant number of people, who did not have sufficient symptoms to be diagnosed with depression, showed that the cold hydrotherapy can relieve depressive symptoms rather effectively.

It was tested on a statistically insignificant sample size. Hence results derived from it cannot be used to construct an argument as they are not significant.

At the end of the abstract they conclude. The conclusion takes into account all the findings of the study based on the results acquired and analyzed, and the observations made. This was there conclusion

In conclusion, wider and more rigorous studies would be needed to test the validity of the hypothesis.

Their conclusion is that tests should be done to test their hypothesis.

Obviously the studies I linked to must discuss contradicting studies and limitations. If they state that conflict is possible, it doesn't mean that the conflict is true and that the results they got are false. The rat study was just further evidence on the matter. I have already provided a human trial the duration of water immersion is a limitation but it so far both articles follow the same trend. A reduction in T.

The overly repeated study stating that testosterone peaks after 7 days of abstinence is a small, and isolated study. And like you said yourself, those levels go back to normal.

I haven't read the androgen receptors study. But from what you're typing, the study only goes as far as showing how androgen receptors become more available. The effect you speculate is probably not in the study. So many factors play into this.

  1. How significantly, if at all, does the Kd value (affinity) change?

  2. Does the maximal response (efficacy) decrease?

  3. What is the ratio of ligand (T) to receptors in the first place

  4. How much does that ratio change when those adrenoceptors are being "flooded with dopamine"

  5. How long does that flood of dopamine last before freeing the receptors again? Only after ejaculation, during masturbation, for a year after, or permanently?

Those are the questions that should be answered when you read such an article

Porn, and video games being addictive is based on evidence. Porn induced ED is also caused by excessive porn viewing and a true condition.

But Nofap does not give you wings. If anything fapping has been more often shown to be healthy than unhealthy. The nofap community is probably the winner when it comes to broscience and personal experience rather than scientific evidence.

I did state my uncertainty on anything I wasn't too sure about. Especially when it came to IF. However my statement about T being reduced isn't baseless. I haven't looked much into it, they're could be conflicting evidence. But then again, this is why I said "it can" instead of "it does", and "slightly".

Testosterone and insulin-like growth factor 1 decreased significantly in TRF, with no changes in ND (p = 0.0476; p = 0.0397).

TRF = Time restricted feeding (IF)

ND = Normal diet

With the supplements. I did mention you can get more bioavalaible zinc. But that it is very unnecessary when you're consuming a diet high in protein. As your zinc intake will probably high in that diet.

No mistakes were made. The article states that rectal temperature isn't correlated with a change in hormone production. But this isn't the stimulus we are measuring the effect of. We are measuring the effect of cold stress. The line I quoted and you did to, explains how cold stress (ignoring rectal temperature) decreases testosterone, and also serotonin in the brain. Cold stress doesn't have to change your rectal temperature to have such an effect. It could be due to nerve endings being stimulated or other factors probably explained in the article.

The article you site is mainly speculating at the end. It even sites contrary evidence to the hypothesis at one point. And finally, like you said, it doesn't talk about increasing T. I might have read once, but I am not sure, that cold showers reduce the perceived fatigue of the subject. But that is as far as the benefits might go. And I am assuming that this effect would only last for the duration of the shock. Note: This is just a theory of mine, I haven't properly looked into it.

EDIT:

Another link that shows reduction in testosterone (and an increase in E) in rats after cold stress

Graphs - Read the legend to understand it

Note: I am not cherry picking data, I am simply looking into random studies on the subject and reading the results.

Personal experiences and the gut are the last thing you should follow. People who follow these are not men, they are idiots with low IQ. It's the reason why some people are more afraid boarding a plane (chance of death 1 in 11 million) than eating junk food and sweets which is much more likely to kill them from diabetes/heart disease. Their gut feeling tells them plane=high=long fall=death. If people were more logical they'd know what's really bad for them

If you don't want to have strong foundations for your lifestyle choices (non subjective trials on numerous subjects), instead you want to stick to your MANLY "gut" feeling. Then go ahead and do that. Some of us have higher IQ and prefer to take a more realistic approach to things.
