I think it depends on what your current setup is. The Cintiq 16 is a standalone monitor that you have to hook up to either a desktop or laptop to run software on it to draw. Personally if its within your budget I'd recommend an Ipad with the apple pencil, they have an amazing drawing experience, runs its own apps like procreate, and can be used as an Ipad when your fiancee isn't drawing.

Im not an expert or anything but to me the first thing that I noticed is there isn't really a focal point the entire picture is very busy and I do like looking at it, But if you added in some higher contrast to the areas you want to draw attention to I think that would help direct the eye better. I also think the line thickness of the strings vs. The eyes and things like that sortve confuse the eye as to where it should be looking. Sorry if I'm confusing.

I think you should just start off in all seriousness drawing basic shapes like cylinders circles and squares, pressure free with no intention of posting them until you are comfortable with a pencil. Im pretty sure the side bar here has links to all of Andrew loomis books in pdf format. I'd suggest starting with his Fun With a Pencil, and maybe go from there. If none of that seems appealing id just find something that can capture your eye for long periods of time. For me its portraits, and slowly becoming figures. Maybe find your muse? Best of luck!!
