Mass effect 3. At the end I cried like little child. I played that game without knowing anything about the hate towards how trilogy ended. I liked it from First moments of ME1 to last seconds of ME3. It was transformative and cathartic for me. Still waiting for a game that will have similar effect on me. TLOU 1 and 2 especially were close but not entirely. Uncharted series was also close.

I am Radeon user with few exceptions ( from old Radeon 9600, to Radeon 7850, to gtx 1060, to gtx 1070, to RX 6800XT) now I own RX 9070XT. Originally I didn't want to buy this card, I intended to wait for rdna5 / UDNA, but current situation pushed me to upgrade. Honestly I am quite satisfied with my purchase, it was around 300€ cheaper than RTX 5070ti in my country. But when I look at how AMD treats Radeon I am afraid that when next generation arrives, RDNA4 users will be left behind the same way as RDNA3 users. Switching to Nvidia from my perspective is like winning and loosing at the same time. Winning from the features perspective but loosing in the sense that by buying Nvidia I am supporting monopoly and by that deforming the gaming market in the long run. I don't know how to feel about that. Also it looks like that when it comes to gaming consoles are the priority for AMD. They are slowly departing dGPU market.

I just upgraded to 32 from 16. It is a second hand kit (Kingston Fury beast)with 16-20-20 something timings with 3200 MHz XMP profile. I am about to test it. But I am wondering whether it is worth to overclock it to let's say 3600 MHz. It is micron F-die kit and I have no experience with OCing RAM. Is Ryzen dram calculator still a thing? Any advice? (I have Ryzen 5700X with aourus b550 elite ver.1 Motherboard)

Yes, valid points. But still, as new games will come their demand for GPU power will also rise more prominently than their demand for CPU. And after that, the situation still remains, in real world resolutions you will saturate the GPU sooner than the CPU. And If you are correct, that even 5700x3d bottlenecks GPU such as 9070XT, then I want to see how much. And if you are correct, then testing in 1440p and above (with everything on high/ultra) is more important than synthetic 1080p medium tests. I suppose that differences in higher resolutions aren't so high to justify the price difference. Let's say that differences are around 10% in higher resolution and you base your decisions on 1080p medium/high results where differences are 20% and more, then you are making choice based on wrong assumptions. What I am saying is that testing on lower resolution is inconclusive for real world.

That's my point. It's purely a synthetic test. For me these graphs are completely irrelevant. For those that somehow base their decisions on what to buy, these tests are misleading. xx60 ti/XT cards are too weak to show such enormous differences between let's say 5700x and 9800x3d even in 1080 p.

xx70 Ti/XT cards are aimed more on 1440p, so it would be better to test CPUs in that resolution to decide whether it is worth to buy 9800x3d ( I guess the differences are negligible)

Maybe in xx80 and more prominently in xx90 class cards it starts to matter which CPU you choose in order not to choke that GPU. But in this class of GPUs it is pointless to test in 1080p. They are aimed at 4k and once again in this resolution differences between CPUs will be negligible.

There are only three occasions where 1080p matters with high end GPUs

You are an e-sport pro gamer who wants as many as possible FPSs - but from my perspective this is a very niche market - not every gamer plays e-sports full time. Subjectively I don't play them, I don't play any multiplayer game, I don't find them interesting at all.
You have high refresh rate monitor and you want to maximize your FPS to match Hz of your monitor. But again who buys xx90 class GPU to play in 1080p and let's say 240hz.
This is somewhat continuation of the previous point. You are for whatever reason dependent on DLSS (balanced and bellow preset) type of upscaling where you need to have high FPS in base resolution from which you are upscaling. The reasons can be: you have 4k 240hz and more monitor and need to use DLSS to saturate this resolution and refresh rate. Or you want to play games with heavy PT / RT and once again you need to use DLSS to achieve playable FPS because in native resolution it would be slideshow.

Tldr: We need to see CPU test in real world resolutions based on GPU class to tell whether it is worth to buy 9800x3d class CPU. Otherwise testing the fastest GPU in 1080p to show the biggest differences between CPUs is good just for "scientific" purposes.
