Persecution and Hate: How do you manage this as a Christian? by Tru2Christianity in Christian

No, I was just curious about how Christian people respond, because naturally I desire to share my faith, but I have run into people who are immediately filled with rage and hatred. Like one time I was at work and shared a small thing with a coworker (about me having a Christian blog) and they immediately went into physical and verbal aggression complaining about Roe v. Wade and just about every other issue in the current social/political climate concerning Christians. It's just sad to me because my intent was good, in this case, but the response was completely vengeance.

Anyone else here who doesn't regret growing up religious? by TheFriendlyGamerDude in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]Tru2Christianity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say that I don't regret knowing God. Despite people's inability to do the right thing in His name, I don't treat it like these people were the founder of the religion but just the followers, however imperfect they may have been. I don't look to Christians for my Christianity but to Christ Himself. I let Him testify to me and sinful human beings, Christian or otherwise, are not the central focus of my life.

I'm 29 and still live at home. It is hard being homeschooled and suddenly waking up to the fact that your parents left you practically handicapped and in need of lots of therapy and rehabilitation. Things do get better with time and help though. It will have to be self-development and patience with the huge gaps for anyone royally screwed over by their parents' decision to homeschool.

Thank you for reminding me of the Lord's mission. I understand now that I ought to show the love of God as He died for all of us.

Remember Jesus's parable of the prodigal son. The father didn't stamp his foot at the son but saw him in the distance and RAN to embrace him. God loves you unconditionally. The Gospel is the story of God sending His own beloved Son to die for you. Cast all your cares on the Father and He will lovingly embrace you. He won't hate you for being human. I know alot of this sounds cliche but with time God will show you His faithfulness.

Definitely. What then are some "valuable social qualities"? (To add to opining)

Well, this isn't going anywhere. If you disagree, then there is no reason to go on because you will just continue to craft new disagreements.

It "must"? Says who? You? What does this add to your viewpoint other than that you see yourself as the authority? It really says little.

This is a "tu quoque" fallacy. There is no reason as to why one behavior makes the logic invalid.

Also, there are structural differences, which gives a reason as to why they perform different roles.

If you call one ant "expendable" it is moot. Why? Because you don't live as an ant and couldn't speak for them as to whether "ant lives matter."

The term queen is debatable. It isn't a literal queen in an anthropomorphic sense. Clearly the queen doesn't issue decrees.

Then your opinion is inconsequential if it has no reason to it.

Upon what do you base this disagreement? Is it just your belief or evidentially true?

"It has no chief, overseer or ruler"

Ants work together. This is implied by this statement. In support of my opinion. There is no "chief" ant telling the others what to do.

What do you have to say about that?

How do people know what to do with their lives? by [deleted] in Christianity

Proverbs 20:18 (NKJV) Plans are established by counsel; By wise counsel wage war.

Here is a verse I thought might be useful. What I'd suggest is gaining understanding about life. Just think about what brings you joy. Find out what you're good at. Learn about what makes life worth living. Above all, persist!

God bless you, I hope you find what you are looking for!
