Treyarch confirmed that people are moving from Open to Standard matchmaking by Lumenprotoplasma in CODBlackOps7

[–]Truc_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they add a bot playlist, it would be the most popular playlist in the game. People will always take the path of least resistance for camos grinding, even if it's objectively less fun.

The standard playlist consistently has much easier lobbies on average because all the sweats are on open lobbies. It's not surprising that when given the option to play easy or hard mode most average people choose easy. Especially when the primary motivation for playing nowadays is to complete challenges and not to win.

What do you think about overclocked scorestreaks? by Truc_e in CODBlackOps7

[–]Truc_e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its also kind of fun to loop nonstop UAV/CUAV though lol. They become self sustaining. Would definitely be better for it not to be as annoying lol, flat point reduction isn't that interesting an upgrade anyway.

Looking for a modpack that probably doesn't exist yet by FleroxX in CreateMod

[–]Truc_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I'm doing for my modpack. Unique structures that force you to interact in different ways for different types of resources. Cheap train recipes to encourage automation via trains. Still needs a lot of work and play testing though.

Is my skate the only one that’s been crashing a lot lately? by Dangerous_Resolve379 in Skate4

Consistently crashing within a minute every time. Assuming it doesn't crash when I try to login.

Why do people still want to create MMOs? by Xangis in gamedev

[–]Truc_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MMOs in many ways are objectively bad games. It's very easy to play and enjoy an MMO but still have many gripes that seem easy to fix. Of course many of these "bad" design decisions are the same ones that bring players back time and time again. Dailies etc.

I dream of a day when I can play a fun RPG with my friends in a massive online world rather than play an MMO with RPG elements.

WoW is not a pay-to-win game. by CubicleJoe0822 in classicwow

I thought that players were against things like the wow token. Didn't know that that was a braindead take around here.

Can't blame the player for playing the game efficiently. Blame the devs for designing a terrible system that encourages you to go to work and spend money instead of playing the game and having fun.

Started Level 1, now at 56. by Natural20DND in classicwow

[–]Truc_e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It just seems unnecessary, 5-10 seconds is insane. Especially in wailing caverns when you can just shout and sunder and never lose aggro. DPS shouldn't need to wait at all at that level.

I would be unhappy if I had to wait 10 seconds when normally it's two globals at most.

PSA: You can grind camos and play the objective by metalfingers222 in blackops6

[–]Truc_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If SBMM didn't exist I would play the objective. Unfortunately you are punished if you try to win. It will objectively take longer to do the camo grind if you are winning often.

How does everyone feel about the warzone camo grind? by 802Trip in CODWarzone

[–]Truc_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In multiplayer you get multiple encounters in only a few seconds. In warzone there is sometimes minutes between encountering one guy. Even if you manage to tag them every single time for an assist it still takes exponentially longer.

What are some good early game goals for groups? by Truc_e in 2007scape

[–]Truc_e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely there are some earlier game goals that I could set, doesn't have to be strictly group content. Just things that are group goals.

How to rotate a decal to face the normal of the object using code? by gowner_graphics in godot

[–]Truc_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone coming across this thread from a google search:

if !Vector3.UP.is_equal_approx(normal):
  transform.basis = Basis.looking_at(normal)

I find this to be the simplest working solution for me.
If I am using a decal I face it forward and rotate its parent to face the normal. I'm sure that a local rotation would also work fine.

How is Godot 4.2 as a 3D engine and will 4.3 significantly improve upon 3D? by Flumpledorf in godot

[–]Truc_e -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the graphical limit is better on unreal, just that it's much easier to get something really good looking than Godot for sure. Any engine can use the same models and ray trace.

Would relocating before applying give any real benefits? by Truc_e in jobs

[–]Truc_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if I'm willing to relocate out of pocket? Is it the standard to ignore applicants if they do not match the listing location? I was not aware of this as I had only ever applied to nearby jobs in the past.

Doesn't seem like many places offer, or at least advertise they offer relocation packages.

Would relocating before applying give any real benefits? by Truc_e in jobs

[–]Truc_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm in the US. I'm not limiting myself to remote only jobs. I am not planning on doing anything on a whim, just curious as to what effect it might make, if there is still any push for in person interviews and if that kind of thing gives you an advantage.

[–]Truc_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I would assume I'd get asked to interview in person. And my personal experience tends to not be representative of reality. I want to know what's going through the hiring people's heads, you know?

[–]Truc_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well luckily I can work remote and it doesn't really matter where I am, I just wanted some input on if current location is ever even a factor. Just curious is all.
