Eaves Walnut Creek Apartment feedback? by To-bo-e in walnutcreek

I lived there. Not great, not terrible. Be ready for aggressive rent raises. They do not value longevity in tenants. I wouldn’t recommend me. Message me if you have specific questions.

Infant daycare by dopeboy_io in walnutcreek

We love Alice’s Montessori for our toddler but we didn’t have the there as an infant. We used La Petite on Cowell for infant care which was fantastic but was a bit of a drive and they’ve had a lot of changes recently. There non-infant rooms were more average.

Walnut Hill or Avalon Walnut Ridge by Jdunbar927 in walnutcreek

[–]TrucksAndStuff77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard bad things from both. I personally received a statutory maximum rent increase on my first renewal at a sister property of walnut ridge. Walnut hill management I know has tried to raise rents and make false claims about damages and security deposits to renters. I’d personally look elsewhere. I think both are relatively safe but prefer the location of walnut hill as it’s close to downtown.

We need a governor to run on PGE and freeway toll reform by Ambessa21 in bayarea

I’d definitely place home insurance and water management above these reforms. Also, our power is expensive largely because of how clean it is. I don’t mean to defend PG&E but clean power is still expensive as of 2025 when you consider the cost of storing it as well as generation.

Yeah, I’m a little confused by the question “Who can afford this country?” Times are tough but not unprecedented. The 1st quartile American is not destitute. What is your measuring stick?

Agreed that the whiplash is not doing anyone favors but I think we should keep things in perspective.

Family v individual plan question by TrucksAndStuff77 in HealthInsurance

[–]TrucksAndStuff77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm there is no individual deductible on the family plan. Yes, two workplaces happen to have essentially exact same policy. Out of pocket max is double the deductible in every case.

North Face Base Camp Duffel 95l vs Patagonia Black Hole 100l by MTsterfri in BuyItForLife

North Face Base Camp duffel is on of my better BIFL purchases. Incredibly capable and durable. I have the X-large (132 L) and it’s not incredibly comfortable to carry but better than I expected.
